Another product tester here. I have to say I've loved it and it's taken the place of my Apex 2, now. During testing I ran with it side by side with my Apex + POD2 + HRM and the data I was getting was so incredibly close to the Apex + accessories. Especially the HR, impressively accurate. It's battery life also outlasts the Apex and that's running with "all systems" on. The AMOLED screen is actually just like a nice to have bonus in reality. Very pleased to have this as my daily watch now.

I have the now ancient Pace 2. And it's just fine... basic and gets the job done for me. I am stuck in the watch world between Apple for everyday use - compatibility with my phone - Apple Pay, messaging, etc abd using my Pace 2 just for running. I am sort of holding out hope for the perfect marriage between Apple & Coros (or Garmin for that matter)... but I don't think that is coming any time soon. I do think I would find value in having my running watch track all factors that could impact training - stress, sleep, daily steps - and have everything in one place. I consider myself a relatively serious runner and I am ready for an upgrade to both watches (my Apple is gen 6) but just not sure this is "smart" enough - HA. Appreciate the review... and now I'll obsess for a few more days/weeks over this decision.

It's funny that Garmin fans will defend the weak processor in the F8, claiming that at least the battery is good thanks to it. Just look at this Coros: you can have a fast processor AND a long battery life. There are no excuses for selling a $1k watch with a several-year-old processor.
@ChaseTheSummitАй бұрын
Eh... it's not that simple. Garmin's do a lot more (NFC Payments, Streaming music, Body Battery, Training Readiness, etc...) not to mention out of the box COROS watches sample heart rate every 10 minutes which saves a TON of battery. If you switch the COROS to "Real Time" Heart rate data it basically cuts the battery life in half when you're not in an activity. Another huge difference is the maps. Yes COROS pans/zooms faster but it also lacks a lot of detail compared to a Garmin which has routeable maps and full map label/POI support. All that stuff takes extra CPU power to render. But yes, Garmin's are super expensive! But I'd argue they're sort of aimed at different markets.

That's the coros way.

I also see them catering to different markets. The Suunto Race S has a nicer build quality and a more complex menu system along with some wellness perks like "Body Resources". COROS as mentioned in my video I view more as a "tool" that doesn't get bogged down with too much fluff or excessive features. I think most people can easily take a Pace Pro out of the box and get up and running in a few minutes while Suunto will require a slight learning curve. @ChaseTheSummitАй бұрын
The problem with USB-C is it's water resistance. It's fine for phones that are moderately "splash proof" but it's not so great for watches with ATM5 water resistance for swimming. The only real answer is to move to a wireless charger like Apple or Google but then you're still carrying something around to charge it. I don't mind the little USB-C adapter on the COROS!

I need your input. I have been in an Apple Watch 3 but I can’t stand the battery life. I am a casual fitness guy who runs, hikes, jump rope, lifts weights and ski’s. I am trying to decide on the best bang for my buck and overall value. Heart rate accuracy and battery life matter to me along with decent gps….. Anyway, I was able to get a Garmin fénix 7 sapphire solar for 490 bucks on sale BUT it’s still in the box… since I am also researching the Amazfit T- Rex 3 and this watch. I care more about the overall value and a watch that will serve me well for a long time. I have also considered the coros vertix 2s. I do like the look of a slightly beefed up watch even tho my wrists are smalller. Which watch do you think is the best deal and value ? Should I keep the Garmin fénix 7 sapphire solar that I got at a great deal ? Or should I return it and go for the amazefit t-rex3 or a coros? Any input is greatly appreciated and thank you so much for all the great content you put out for us all
@ChaseTheSummitАй бұрын
This really depends on what you're doing and what features you value. None of these sports watches will compare to an Apple watch when it comes to "smart features" like LTE, speaker/microphone, apps, etc... But as a dedicated sport watch the Fenix 7 Sapphire is a great option and it has superior mapping/navigation compared to just about any other brand. Do you value mapping? That's the easy answer. If you don't care about smartwatch features or mapping as much the COROS Pace Pro would make a great option and is arguably the best value in your list.
@sahilSethiSeabiscuitАй бұрын

Coros hit a homerun here, or have they? It's 399€ in Europe so it is competing with Polar M3, Suunto Race/Race S and Forerunner 265. What I think they fall on here is the design. It doesn't look good at all if you compare to Polars M3 or Suunto's Race. Or am I so different that I don't see the beauty in it?

Do i get rid of my 965 for this?? tough decision

@@johnnybravo6 not sure why you’d do that? The 965 is superior in just about every way.

@@ChaseTheSummit it seems like their app is set up a little better for training purposes, but i will probably just use the 965 til it dies then see how everything is matching up
