I’m really loving your theatrical make-up tutorials. My daughter had a Tim Burton inspired wedding. Lots of dusky blues and purples. Striped and swirled fabrics, cut crystal elements, raven sculptures, skulls, and hand painted pumpkins. We had it at a deconsecrated Presbyterian church that was reminiscent of the Beetlejuice house. Her father made an arch from old shutters. We hung Spanish moss, globe lights and tattered embroidered sheers on it and set it in front of a fireplace we decorated with rich mixed fabrics, candles, and pumpkin elements. All over the arch and on every table we had blue and purple butterflies I had spent the last year gathering every time I passed a hobby store and many hours repainting with eyeshadows and mica powders. I faux painted 8 plastic pedestal urns to look like concrete and did hand painted pumpkin stacks with flowers in the color palette and twisted willow branches to add to the spooky vibe. She had dyed her hair that deep silky blue and wore a dusky blue gown with a lace up back, because we ended up with a little surprise in the middle of planning for the wedding and needed the room in the dress, lol. It was covered in lace and pearls over a sheer material that gave it that tattered look. Her bouquet had faded hand painted silk roses, other flowers, and succulents to honor her grandmothers who couldn’t be there. We also put a jeweled spider in for luck. She came down the aisle to the incidental music from the beginning of the movie. It was absolutely beautiful and inspired.
