The way the guards beat Robert, you could tell they were completely at ease with it. There was no hesitation and notice they didn't bother closing the door to make it more discrete. Anyone that was 25 yards away could have heard someone getting beat to death but nobody including the supervisor or nurses did anything to stop it. Right now all of those guards and the nurses are sweating bullets wondering when they will indicted.

The Correctional Association knew about criminal behavior at the institution but chose to do nothing but protect the criminals/domestic terrorists who wear the badge. If that bodycam did not get out of the facility, Robert Brooks murder would have been attributed to the lies told by the murderers with badges. People need to asked, how many others have been criminally abused or murdered that we dont't know about.

This happens all the time this one just went public. I have witnessed it myself. He had reached six years left on his sentence at which point you get transferred to a medium security prison. He was being transferred to Mid-State prison across the street. They claim he assaulted staff there. Policy at that point says the inmate must be transferred to another prison due to the possibility of retaliation by other officers at Mid-State. He was being moved to Marcy across the street and was cuffed for transport and Marcy brought him straight to the infirmary and proceeded to beat him for the alleged assault at Mid-State. He was then moved to Mohawk where they pronounced him dead. He was likely already dead as some have pointed out they held him up to the window for 2-3 minutes probably to see if he was still breathing, it was after that they striped his cloths. Marcy is known for this level of brutality.

Robert was still alive, he didn’t die until about six hours later approximately 4 AM and I’d like to know who was with him at the hospital? Because the cause of death is reported to be asphyxiation so my question is did one of these individuals that were beating him to death and lynching him, were one of them with him at the hospital and smothered him to death or stuck something in his throat so he couldn’t breathe to kill him so he couldn’t talk because he was still hanging on six hours later? Why hasn’t this been discussed and I certainly hope that the family does a complete and total independent autopsy. New York is so corrupt why is it that there is video and none of these people have been brought up on charges weeks later? Is it because Robert wasn’t a CEO?

4 of the officers involved were already being investigated for brutality and abuse... Ask yourself why 4 officers under investigation were allowed to continue in the same capacity while being investigated? Also, ask yourself how depraved and mentally ill can you be to be caught red- handed on camera doing what you are being investigated for? Is this what officer unions and the back the blue people mean when they say: officers at held to a higher standard?

@JamesBrendon-h4r absolutley agreed. And i can't be the first person to have ever thought of this. Why in the hell didn't the head of nys doccs, or the osi ever do this before? Because they don't want to believe an incarcerated individual? My son was incarcerated at Marcy in 2023, and is probably the most honest person they've ever seen. That's why he was there, he was honest about a stolen booking at 17 years old, and took the rap for all the kids involved. Fortunately, they only knocked his head off the wall once.
@adrianalan32323 күн бұрын
They never use to have body cameras. Nor cameras inside dorms or cell blocks. Cameras where only in the messhall and the SHU-200 (special housing unit) "the box". So that means alot of stuff before mandated body worn cameras are unrecorded. Anything could have happened outside the camera lens. These abusing co's would go to great lengths to take you off site to beat you or worse. It's disgusting

In my opinion, there shouldn't be a single inch of a prison without a camera on it, nor a single "correctional officer" without a BWC. These people in prison may or may not be criminals so they're more likely to fight and do illicit things. AND the staff being in positions of power over these people are also more likely to abuse them, they don't see these prisoners as human beings. They see them as less than and undeserving of human rights.

To everyone saying this guy is in charge. He is NOT in charge. CANY goea into to jails to do monitorinf visits and then iasues reportz which go to the Warden, AG, and Governor. It is up to these officials to make changes based on CANY recommendations. Obviously, Leticia James and her elk never did what was recommended. Moroever, when alegations are made against officers guess whose office defends the officers....Leticia James. So she is complicit. Her office fights inmate accts at all turn and so does the Governor.

They happen all the time to inmate's of all ethnicities, and the assaults and / or murders are blamed on other inmate's. I have a loved one who's incarcerated in NYS. They put their hands on inmate's all the time and stir up issues between inmate's. They talk about reform, and most of the programs they get paid to reform don't even get carried out. I could go on and on. Resetivism is a thing because they are not being reformed. Animals get treated like royalty compared to an incarcerated individual. Nepotism is also part of the problem.

Excellent questioning by the news reporter. Prior to retiring as a project manger from a field that requires attention to safety of workers and the community at large.... I fully understand the challenges the Director of CANY faces. You would be surprised how executives and other agencies invovled in safety do nothing even after being notified of serious problems. Unfornately and consequently - there is a fine line and balancing act between escalating safety concerns and keeping your job. In the end well intentioned individuals like this director quit or they are the first to be fired in the face of the good work that they do. When they leave who replaces them? .... maybe someone who is not as sincere, or concerned and nothing is ever corrected. Typical bureaucracy that requires systemic changes.
