I genuinely believe corrections is one of the best things to happen to American TV in decades. It is far more personal and intimate than television has been in a long long time. Even though corrections itself is only on KZbin, it makes Late Night itself a better combined experience.

I feel the same way! I'd go as far as to call it metamodern, it hits so many beats and creates a true mythology around timely gags and good-natured pranking, even though the concept is based on a kind of adversarial premise. Pretty magical stuff, Correkshuns is one of my favorite shows ever for its intimacy and humanity, and the amazing laffs. Once in a generation type stuff. Regards, on/off foreign wannabe jackal.

JACKAL FOR THE WIN! I was at an event at Rochester Institute of Technology where Seth was speaking and I was lucky enough to go to the very limited meet and greet. The organizers wouldn’t let me bring my mug up for Seth to sign. I complained to Seth and got my picture. I hung out after hoping he would change his mind. He looked for me and said I figured it was one of you jackals (in that way he says it) and signed my jackal mug. I was so very excited. Seth really is the nicest guy! CORRECTION: I'm French. I live in the US now. I love the Late Show (except when Seth tries to speak French, apologies to his mother). I would like to point out that there were in fact three French revolutions. The main one did indeed take place in the 18th century. But the two others took place in the 19th century. The February Revolution, or the Revolution of 1848, took place (you guessed it) in 1848. There was also the Revolution of July, which took place at the very end of July 1830. The memorable death of the character Gavroche in Les Misérables (the endless book as well as the endless musical) takes place during that revolution. So, you COULD have been right, Seth. I mean, you weren't, but you could have been.

Samantha, Jochen and Jeremy-Günther), but then my work visa expires all of a sudden and I have to go back to Germany and I say "Honey, my work visa expired, I'm afraid I have to return to Germany, will you join me", and she says "I don't know what to say; the kids go to school now, they have all their friends here in America, that's a bit of a shocker..." - and I say "Fine, then I have to leave on my own... but we can still visit each other", to which she says "Of course! You are the love of my life!"... And now I've got her where I need her to be, answering "Oooh - that's so sweet, honey. Honey... on your next visit, ... do you think you could bring me a box full of Seth Meyer's Corrections mugs? That'd be totally awesome!" But now I can order them online, shipment to Europe isn't a problem anymore... but I'm somehow even more interested in starting a family now...

*Everyone* gets a mug? That’s one lucky draw. 🤩
@singingsunflower90002 жыл бұрын
Are they seriously gonna give us all mugs??? I cant tell if he is joking??? Omg! Im living paycheck to paycheck and still went out and browsed a perfect postcard and got a fancy stamp for USA just so I could imagine Seth reading it and being happy! I also imagined all the other people who work there or in close quarters seeing all the postcards start to rain in, and it made me happy just thinking this. But if I actually get a mug I think I might cry! I wonder how many mugs that would be? Oh I have to rewatch the episode with Seth holding all the postcards again!!

6:57 If this is about that Les Miserables reference, then the actual mistake was that Les Miserables isn’t about the French Revolution, it’s about the June Rebellion of 1832.

@@tridachia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_Rebellion From memory, it came up when Seth talked about Trump using Do You Hear the People Sing? at a campaign event and mentioned 19th Century France. I’m actually not sure if Seth knew which event the book/musical was about, but either way he got the century right and the jackals were wrong.

I apparently have no family because one had her phone off and the other’s phone rang twice and went to a full voicemail. They can’t call my home phone because everyone in the neighborhood lost VOIP on Wednesday and the repair date is the 29th. And I never gave them my cell number because it is emergency only with 30 minutes a month.

NBC now has a European branch, called SkyShowtime, but somehow Late Night with Seth Meyers isn't on it and they don't have a merch store yet. John Oliver and Jon Stewart are available on HBO Max and Apple+, so this obviously should be fixed.

I live in Japan, there are lawns here. One house nearby has a real lawn, with grass. Another has astroterf. But, yes, most do not. Usually, it's flowers and assorted trees on what little land there is around the house.

Ah, Seth: Always a delight even performing the weekly corrections. In short, it's all funny as f-ck. And combined with Colbert, Kimmel, Maher, Fallon et al provides just the kind of honest journalism presented as comedy that the world & especially the USA so urgently requires. Carry on.
