I was lucky enough to crew on The Fall Guy for all 5 months of the shoot and I can say that Logan (Ryan's stunt driver double) was one of the loveliest guys on set. He was cool enough to chat with me quite a few times, mostly about the differences in traffic between Sydney and LA, then about what it's like to prepare for a stunt where you drive a car across a huge ravine with no safety net. As the shoot was wrapping up he managed to give me a stunt department shirt which I wear all the time. A lot of cool people worked on this movie.

The Matrix wasn't green lit because of Keanu and the other actors in consideration might've done a good enough job for the movie to still be a hit. And in 2013, when Keanu Reeves (GOAT) directed Man of Tai Chi to honor his friend Tiger Chen from Yuen Woo--Ping's team, both he and Chad Stahelski were reminded of how to use a stunt crew to do movies. This happened less than a year before John Wick 1 came out. And the fact that Reeves and Stahelski hadn't done anything of significance regarding action for a 10 year period, only reinforces the idea that they learned from Yuen Woo-Ping.

Tbh, I think his movies (apart from "Hobbs and Shaw", which I didn't like very much) very much are Oscar-worthy, when it comes to camera work, editing and sound design. Plus, he is like a modern day Richard Donner, with his excellent sense of pacing and his ability to blend extreme comedy with action. I want him to direct the upcoming movie about Nina Wilde and Eddie Chase. If you've read the books, you'll know why. Also, if you want to see how everything started, watch Sammo Hung's "Martial Law" - David Leitch's career started there. His character was very funny.

English is NOT my native languege. I bet half of you couldn't write my name if I told you, and the other half couldn't read it if you saw it. And it is ok. This is not your fault. 2. In my languege letters have function, each letter always sounds the same no matter of etymology. English spelling on the other hand is bullshit. If the word "miracles" was greek it would read like "Heracles". For me he is Дені Вільньов. It would be read and written the same was he french, english or martian. Her horse did NOT like the helicopter being moved around on the crane during the lesson. The staff at the stables said they'd been really struggling to keep the horses from spooking the evening before due to some mini-explosions in something that was being filmed, but they all came out of it okay in the end. My daughter has been pretty curious about the movie since then so we'll probably check it out this weekend.

How do you figure that traffick cost the economy millions
@ChrisMcCarroll5 ай бұрын
@@Alex-zi1nb Bad traffic can significantly impact the economy for several reasons: Lost Productivity: Time spent in traffic is time not spent working. Commuters stuck in traffic cannot contribute to economic activities, leading to reduced overall productivity. Increased Fuel Consumption: Vehicles idling or moving slowly consume more fuel, increasing costs for both individuals and businesses. This also leads to greater fuel imports, affecting the national trade balance. Higher Operational Costs for Businesses: Delivery delays and increased travel time for employees can raise operational costs. Businesses may need to compensate for delays by hiring more drivers or paying overtime. Environmental Impact: Traffic congestion leads to higher emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases, contributing to environmental degradation. This can result in health costs and necessitate spending on pollution control and mitigation measures. Health Costs: Prolonged exposure to traffic congestion can lead to stress and health issues for commuters, increasing healthcare costs and potentially reducing workforce productivity due to illness. Infrastructure Wear and Tear: Constant traffic can accelerate the wear and tear on roads and bridges, leading to higher maintenance and repair costs for government agencies. Opportunity Costs: The time and resources lost due to traffic could have been used for other productive activities, leading to an opportunity cost that affects economic growth. Overall, the cumulative effect of these factors can be substantial, leading to a significant economic burden.

A Fun Fact about Ringo Lam: he directed a movie called "City on Fire" starring Chow Yun Fat. Quentin Tarantino totally ripped it off when he made "Reservoir Dogs" and then pretended like he hadn't seen the movie. "Totally ripped it off" No, he didn't. The films have a vaguely similar premise and that's where the similarities end. If you were to watch the movies back to back you wouldn't feel like Reservoir Dogs "totally ripped it off" because they have totally different tones and feels.
@jacoballison82377 ай бұрын
@@RSpracticalshooting look you don't need to suck off QT in youtube comments. He ripped it off. The story is pretty much identical, he just reordered scenes and changed some details, but the plot beats and characters are all pretty much there. I love QT and his movies, but he still copied it. And like OP said, in HK films, ripping off another film/director was like standard practice throughout the 60s-90s and led to some amazing gems. Hell, Ringo himself copied Point Blank to make Full Contact, which is arguably his best movie (to me at least).
@RSpracticalshooting7 ай бұрын
@jacoballison8237 Taking inspiration from something and ripping something off are two different things. You make it sound like Tarantino watched City On Fire and said "I'm gonna remake this movie" rather than just going "well those are some cool ideas" and writing his own movie. Again, watch them back to back. You won't be able to honestly say Reservoir Dogs is the same movie.

I didnt have high hopes for Fall Guy, because of various reasons, but that surprised the hell out of me. Felt like a masterpiece overall, because it almost was like a documentary about stuntmen in a very positive way... Because a lot of that stuff feels and is real. Super interesting, entertaining and action loaded at once. Since i dont know every single movie i guess... This was a unique experience. Loved it. Great job everybody.

This was an incredible interview with someone who is currently one of the best action directors out there, glad he had time for the couch

Bullet Train was amazing. I saw a trailer once and thought, "Looks like an interesting movie, I'll check it out someday." I was surprised at how well the movie was done and how good it was. The story, action and comedy all fit so well and the actors all seemed to fit into their roles perfectly.

Still loving all these "react" series on the channel. They have heightened my appreciation of movie magic, the vision, and complexity from the special effects keyboard warriors to the people doing the practical work (stunt people/crew)

Amazing movie! You can see the love and care for stunts if you're watching it. It almost felt like you're watching the directors cut at the same time. Truly unique experience

I just got back from The Fall Guy, he did an excellent job. This movie was better than I was thinking it was going to be. And watching the behind the scenes of the stunts in the end credits was great.

I love David Leitch as a director and stunt coordinator, ‘Bullet Train’ is my mental health comfort movie, as nuts as that sounds.

Fall Guy is in the theaters right now, and you guys really made wanna watch it. It's the passion of the people involved which hooked me up. Thanks!

Another great interview/breakdown guys, I'm so happy these absolute legends are so receptive to talking about their movies - you can always tell when real passion is involved, and I often go back and rewatch a lot of these films within a few days of seeing these videos :)

I love how Gui confirms or agrees with David and vice versa, Dave kinda looks at Gui to back up or confirm what he talking about. Good breakdown

Just got back in from seeing Fall Guy 5 minutes ago and see this when I open YT, sick! Movie was awesome, I really enjoyed it and it was nice to see the stunt guys get their flowers.

David's work on Deadpool 2 is so underrated. Way better movie than the first in every possible regard, and totally overlooked. Great comedy, genuinely well done characters, visually amazing and it just feels like a good comic story

Finally another stuntmen react! Awesome that you guys had David Leitch on. His work is great in the industry. Please don’t make us wait months at a time for these anymore. They’re so great.

There are some real gnarly train stunts (probably combined with some rear projection and miniatures) in this old silent film “Love Rides the Rails” with Monty Banks. The only video of it on the internet I’m aware of is on a KZbin channel named Russell Smith with an Australian theatre organist named David Johnston. The film starts around 7:30 and is well worth watching with the organ music accompaniment.

Fall guy was SO amazing, I got sucked into the world immediately and by the half time mark I was audibly cheering for the characters whenever they did something crazy. That basically brought me a true cinema magic experience, I love it to bits! And I liked Bullet Train too, even though I watched it on Netflix, I was sold on the action just the same as on the big screen. :D

This movie deserves accolades WELL beyond this year. The movie made me grin and this video made me just push it even further afterwards.

Just saw Fall guy.... loved it. I liked that it was pretty obvious in places that we were looking at the double and not Gosling. It was silly, charming, fun... good Job!

Saw "The Fall Guy" in theater yesterday, it was awesome! You see the love for stunt work a mile away. I especially love that moment in the final fight, when all the stunt guys team up and rush together to beat the crap out of the bad guys. Too bad they didn't have Winston Duke shout "Stunt men, assemble!". Would've been really fun!

Have you guys considered speaking with Damien Walters? He is an absolute hero in the UK gymnastics, free running and stunt scene. Not only is he himself an insanely decorated stunt performer, but his gym in a small city in the midlands in the UK basically created an entire generation of elite gymnasts and stunt performers (including TH’s stunt double in Spider-Man). He’s just wrapped his directorial debut, and he’s crowdfunding to keep the gym in Derby alive to keep giving back to the community. A true legend in the UK film industry and a perfect guest and role model!

We need a "Fall Guy" type movie for CGI! All the actors in the interviews, "We are proud to say there is no frame untouched by CGI."
