@SirWrender7 жыл бұрын
At least by how you've just described it... you couldn't be more wrong. Care to elaborate? Gasoline car engines are typically about 30% efficient where as charging batteries is more than 90% efficient. There's literally no way gas costs less than electricity.
@ivanstroganov54587 жыл бұрын
Tm m if "at least quadruple more" is not a generalization, I don't know what is. Charging a battery can cost 4 times more than gasoline? uhm.. no. just no. Its the exact same thing just scaled up and there are plenty of people right here on youtube who have done it.

Wren, those 2 set screws in the 12 tooth pulley need detents in the shaft of the motor to lock into. The shaft of the motor is most likely chrome-vanadium, which is much harder than the set screws. Process: build it so that everything is in place, tighten the set screws so that they contact the shaft and hopefully leave witness marks on the shaft of where you need to grind with a dremel, will a location for the set screws to lock into and prevent the issue.

But can you make pedalling recharge her battery? Plus a solar panel on the handlebars? Plus a wind turbine in the top tube? I think I'm describing a perpetual motion machine...
@saint-cetacean5 жыл бұрын
The initial energy has to come from somewhere, either her lunch (pedaling) or solar fusion etc. So really it all comes from the big bang 🤷♂️

I'm so pissed that they don't tell you how they solve the issue of the regenerative braking!
@netstrider127 жыл бұрын
Agreed
@mrpovpov2987 жыл бұрын
It's not regenerative braking , it's just normal braking. The ESC has a feature to brake when you let off the throttle. It has this feature because that ESC is normally used on remote controlled aircraft. Now the fix to this is really simple you just program the ESC . And the programming does not involve any coding or anything it's just done directly on the ESC . You'll hear a sequence of beeps from the ESC which will let you know what setting it's at and you just select your preferred requirements using the throttle as a navigation tool . This fix literally takes like 5 seconds so that's probably why he didn't include it in the video.
@rianrushwood14266 жыл бұрын
ESC is also used on RC cars

I love using PLA, but here in southern California, I can only use PLA for indoor climate controlled parts. I made bicycle parts before (water bottle cage, etc.) From PLA and it ended up warping from the heat on a hot day. Above 110F, not recommended.

@SirWrender7 жыл бұрын
I don't really think that's fair to Adam, to be honest. His company has a huge youtube channel that makes great content. He's just from a world of TV. But I think he's embraced YT way better than most celebrities.
@ksng7677 жыл бұрын
Wren I cannot agree with you, the fact that you're even willing to reply to my post which you disagree with, puts you way beyond Adam as a youtuber. All the respect I've lost for Adam now goes to youtubers like you. I don't think our comments here are the worst things on the internet, which is an idea Adam is adamant with, he has stated many times that youtube comments are the worst and he will never ever reply to them, not even on his own channel.

Next MOD would be to design a way to recharge the battery while pedaling? :)~
@nostromov78925 жыл бұрын
And regenerative breaking, it can add -like- 3, 5, 7% or whatever, depending. Funny thing is when I see $7000 bikes without it (there are many and people actually buy them, LOL).
@ryanakers13725 жыл бұрын
Wonder if something like a car alternator could be added to the front wheel to charge the battery while the bike is in motion.
@thinkdunson5 жыл бұрын
they call that regenerative braking, and they call it that because it adds a large amount of resistance. so the bike would be way too hard to pedal, and no one would use it. the only time you might use it would be if you were going downhill or coasting to a stop... so if there was a switch on the bars that would let you turn regen on and off, that could be cool. but like the other dude said, it adds a very tiny amount to total run time; so using it on and off like that would give you very very little regeneration. in other words, not worth the trouble.
@nostromov78925 жыл бұрын
A (large) loss to heat and in the conversion process (back to battery), unfortunately! What to do. :f
@bradhaines31425 жыл бұрын
@@thinkdunson it is if you wire the regenerative brakes to the brakes, otherwise it would only make it inefficient
