I never appreciated Tai Lung's voice work at the time I first saw Kung fu Panda. But dang, in retrospect, it what made him seemed so strong. Ian McShane's performance was great!

Ted might be my favourite professional guest so far. He's charismatic and feels super comfortable on the couch. He's knowledgeable and friendly and has great conversations. A lot of other guests just kind of stare off into space and nod every once in a while when either Wren or Niko are talking; but Ted actually listens and engages back. Good people skills make for great guests.

I love how 3D animated movies are becoming more stylized, and not just that traditional Disney realistic animation. Things like spiderverse, new puss n boots, nimona, arcane, etc are just raising the bar for what it could look like.

agreed, you have much more options than with higher grades of realism. you can go both ways: a little more detailed for serious scenes but also in a cartooish direction for comedy and action

I think that's what makes it such a classic over others. It's not a traditional love story. It's about family and more than just blood, it's about found family as well. Just something anyone can relate to. “This is my family. I found it all on my own. It’s little and broken… but still good. Yeah, still good.” Makes me cry everytime

Interesting, from what i can recall Ted is the first guest who's talked about some of the areas he struggled or had to play catch up in the industry, but he clearly knows what he's doing and has a lot of ingenuity and passion which help overcome those challenges

​@Gundumb_guy Look, I'll be honest... I was a little surprised to see the affection at the beginning of the film (mind you, I've grown up in, and still live in a rather conservative town). But I think I was more surprised because it's not something we see often in mainstream media. For the film, it was perfect, and it made sense (without spoiling it) because it made the stakes so much more poignant and carried so much more weight. By the end of the film it all feels so much more deserved and so much deeper. I also just absolutely loved the whole film and it had the same sort of vibe as all of my childhood films (like Lilo and Stitch). It was such a joy to watch and a bit of a tear-jerker in parts too. We need more films like this and I only wish this one got more attention and hype, because... wow! What a masterpiece! And such a stunning art style!

There's a lot more to Nimona that I wish you guys could see/react to. There were a few scenes that blew my mind in the detail they added. One scene was when one of the characters flipped a chess piece with his finger and how perfect the physics looked. The other is a bit blurry at the moment, but I think it's the scene where the post-it notes get ripped away from the wall or something similar. Both scenes are only a handful of frames, but the detail that went into them was exquisite and really blew me away.

The "CHARGE " Blender short would be awesome for the VFX series. As well as *Aslan from the Chronicles of Narnia!* where you could do a comparison to the "live action" Lion King. Also at the end of second Chronicles of Narnia movie there's a big water creature, so it might be cool to see what you think about that. Maybe also, Max Schneider's Gibberish music video, the editing kinda breaks my brain there. The *last agni kai fight from ATLA* would be perfect for for the Animators React. It's so stunning! And for stuntmen react It would be cool to see you react to the duel from "Potop", it's really good sword fight

For another AMAZING example of eye tracing, the music video for Vision by Dreamcatcher has EVERY SINGLE SHOT lined up perfectly. Also the MV is almost entirely CG outside of the performers, it's gorgeous

For another fun example that I think they already covered in a stuntmen react video I think, is the Kingsman movies. Plenty of action/fight scenes in those movies follow that same style, but I don’t remember if it was referred to as Eye Tracing.

never knew that about the plane section in Lilo n Stich. i also remember there was a part in GTA 3 that got cut where you fly a plane into a building, and then there was the thing where they removed the towers from the spiderman movie back then. its crazy how much stuff that affected not just irl but in media at the time. its also crazy how many things were coming out with bits about planes hitting buildings because of how fantastical and unrealistic something like that seemed at the time.

Just watched Nimona based on this video's recommendation. WOW! What a beautiful movie! It had such a feeling of nostalgia just like all my childhood films and an absolutely stunning art style. Even the credit roll had little animations in it that showed just how much passion went into this project. You can really tell that every single person who helped create this film truly loves what they do and were proud to show it all off in Nimona! Thank you for introducing this beautiful work of art to me!

In this modern world of super, super fast intercut editing, I think well-planned eye tracking is more important than ever!! The problem of its absence becomes pretty clear when watching very fast-cut action films where fight sequences can just devolve into confused garble because one's eye can't follow what's going on...? A lot of music videos actually seem to do this WAY better than full-on movie productions do, which is interesting.

If by "emphasis" you mean, "the main character happens to be in a relationship and they kiss once" then I guess we have different meanings of the word. I've seen endless numbers of children's movies that are much more explicit and aggressive about pushing heterosexuality; it's often a major plot point even in Disney movies. @@artulyanoff
