I remember the impact listening to Corrie's testimony had on me when I was a young Christian, and so I am now reading The Hiding Place to my children. May we never forget what these courageous believers like Corrie and her family did. May we not just be inspired, but prepare ourselves to be used of Him as the dark clouds form over our lands once more.

This forty year old video is as relevant today as it was then. I'm looking forward to meeting Miss Corrie in heaven! I've got another connection to this in many (many) years ago that my Sunday School teacher here in Houston was Jeanette Clift-George (who played Corrie in the film).

I assume Jeanette Clift was a good Christian. When she hosted Corries Tribute video her love and admiration for Corries clearly comes across. I heard she died last year.

+Bailey Baker .The reason why she is one of the bravest and most courageous woman we have ever known is because she completely relied on the Lord Jesus to get her strength. She always had a good understanding that she did not have her own strength and her own courage, but she also knew that with the strength of Christ imputed in her, she will become very brave and very courageous.

I am now reading "The Hiding Place" for the umpteenth time. When life gets really rough and my pity party is causing my faith to dwindle, all I have to do is read the book over again to know that I don't know anything about suffering. The book is a reality check that gets me back on track. Christians would not be looked down on as much if we would strive to live life as the Ten Boom family did. Corrie thought she was not pretty, but she was beautiful, inside and out.

@@aldra8507 Pretty soon it will be Hello 2023, and I hope our good Lord will start liberating the down trodden here in Canada, such as delivering us from that evil tyrant Justin trudeau with his stupid "carbon tax", which has resulted in many of our hard working Canadian families to be struggling to pay for gas in our cars and heat for our homes, Hardly being able to feed our families because of the cost of food, his defending pedophiles and terrorists. I could go on, but he isn't much different than Hitler. I also speak for other countries who have their own dictators robbing them of their rights and freedoms. They all need to be removed just as the tyrants were after WW2!

Hoi Dirkje, Very good questions. I wrestle with this also and ended my membership of the Catholic Church. The last years I somehow became interested in this mysterious thing called 'the soul' and became intrigued by the many 'Near Death Experiences' (see Pim van Lommel) and reincarnation. It helped to make some sense of this mysterious life of us. I hope you didn't lose complete hope in life, maybe the Near Death Experiences can help you. Good luck.

She told Pat..."it was who was keeping me"...God knows we don't have the ability in and of ourselves to forgive when such evil is perpetrated upon us...God then comes and gives us the ability.....I had a unarmed son that was shot at point blank range by a off-duty police officer. He had three unarmed friends with him.. To this day we do not know why he was killed. He was 21. the police officer got away with it..I was told that he was a hot head just waiting to shoot someone. My son was singled out, and I felt the darkness of evil as it sought to shut me down with hate. I had never experienced such hate in my heart.....the months following his death there were times I literally could not breathe...one morning the Lord impressed upon my heart....I want you to forgive the man who killed your son...with tears in my eyes..I said yes, I canceled my DRs appointment and drove to the police station with a letter of forgiveness in hand..I asked to speak to the officer, the receptionist realizd I was the mother of the young man this officer had killed. She told me he wasn't there..so I handed her the letter and told her to please make sure the police officer got the letter and that it was not a letter of hate but of forgiveness. AS I walked out it felt like 1000 lbs had been lifted off my shoulders..God's presence enveloped me...as I was driving down the highway..I looked up and there was a billboard with two words on it..."Sweet Mom"....that's a phrase my so used to say to me all the time...That's Sweet Mom"..I have never since that day had hatred in my heart...sometimes the enemy tried to bring it up but the hatred has been uprooted so it cannot grow or get a foothold....If Jesus can forgive ALL of humanity on the Cross...who am(you) I not to forgive? I am forgiven so therefore I can forgive. It's the most wonderful benefit of being a child of God..Since the death burial ad resurrection of Christ...God can give to us the ability to forgive...we just have to be willing when he comes to us and ask us to forgive others. Love Corrie Ten Boom..can't wait to talk to her at the marriage supper of the lamb.

I wonder if most Americans hae forgotten Corrie ten Boom and all the suffering her family and the Jews the family helped went through? I see most the comments are old. This is a story that can truly help us in today's time. Christians may very likely not be far from suffering horribly again. As Corrie ten Boom said though God will be with us and will not fail us! I so feel for her. Though she had so many who loved her, most her family was taken away at this time frame. Still, you hear her words and can understand how she overcame the hatred of the people who did this. Can you imagine the GRAND REUNION that family had when she made it to heavenly shores? She is one whose example Christians of today would do good to follow!

Hoi Piet, no, I never lost hope in life, but I am curious about what makes life so precious and to me it is not Christianity. I did watch the vid from v Lommel, but reincarnation was making so much sense to me before that. So many examples to check out. I don´t know what does the trick but to keep feeling happy to be a life or to be able to do what you like is so very improtant. I am just not sure what makes me tick after all those years of being alive...;-) Hope all is well with you, groetjes

Hoi Dirkje, yes I can see some 'twinkling' in your eyes in your picture. That's a good sign. But I feel a certain 'doubt' in what you are saying. It feels as if you are missing 'something'. Something like maybe purpose or meaning in your life. I recognise that, because I have been searching for that for years without knowing what it was. I'm reading a book which I like very much. It's about 'healing' our original wound and finding our 'core'. "Healing is remembering who we truly are". Groetjes.

Hmmm, quite a bit of controvesy over this video that I posted. The fact remains: In all of history there has been only one "sin bearer". I think of this every time I see videos of people crawling on bloodied knees to some shrine of the Virgin De Guadelupe, or people in the Phillipines nailing themselves to crosses. The office of Lamb belongs to one and one only, my redeemer lives folks!

What compassion? Where are the angels that Billy Graham preached about? Where is the love and grace when people NEED it? You cannot prove JC has compassion because there is so much proof of apathy and indifference -- never there when needed. If he cared, he would have warned his prayer partners that a huge disaster was going to hit New York on Sept. 11. Wouldn't a loving parent do everything possible to help and to save his or her beloved children?
