Wise words from my father that he shared with me about the time I started challenging him... "By the time you're big enough and old enough to whoop me, you won't want to." I feel so fortunate to be able to appreciate the words now, that I didn't understand then. I try to cherish every moment I have with him.
@silverfox93034 жыл бұрын
nolanbrown84 Very similar to what my Dad said to me on the same circumstance, his line was " when you're big enough you will be to old" at first didn't make sense, then I grew up and understood, we still have similar values in the UK and the USA.
@nolanbrown844 жыл бұрын
@@silverfox9303 it's funny how dad's seem to know this stuff ahead of time, isn't it?! Almost as though they've already been through it before when they were younger. Cheers from the Midwest of the US!

Nolan Brown I’m 79 years old myself, but I still remember when I was taking my Dad on in a wrestling or sparring sense, as ever the small boy found that he couldn’t match Dad and would get frustrated. This was usually the point where Dad put his arms round me , held me close so that I couldn’t lash out and quite calmly say “OK that’s enough for today” it’s sad but all too often we only recognise just how good our parents were much later. Best wishes from North West England, take care, stay safe,

I noticed something about Cedar. When she was talking to you on the front porch about cleaning up all of that stuff, she went about it in a way that was not demanding or domineering. She did it with finesse and was very courteous in asking to clean up the mess. Asking to do things in a manner like that makes one really want to do that task. You have you a good woman for sure 👍👍

Excellent addition to the shop, in our days “keep on talking” meant “ your about to feel the thunder” up until dad got home, and all that nonsense had better not been while your mother or sister were at home. Many times my brother and I took it to the barn, when he felt tough. It never worked out well for him. I sure miss those times he passed away 5 years ago. Your right some people on social media don’t understand how hurtful their comments can be.Rule of communication: Reply as if you were talking to your Mother or Grandma. Just be Kind to each other. Stay safe 🇺🇸

Tin looks great as does the porch. It would be great to have a bench and a nice swing on the garden end of the porch. Shop looks great too. One or two of those rolling tool boxes would help keep things off the work bench when you build it. A peg board to hang up stuff that you use very often right in front of you as you work. Hope to do that this winter myself. I'm so glad everyone helped clean up. What a difference it makes! Blessings to you and your family and friends and any livestock you might have wandering around the house and yard. Hope your visit goes well and that you build pleasant memories. 🐱👩🌾🌱🙏🕊

You You're a very good father to your children and husband to Cedar. I didn't have a father around growing up, but I was blessed with a grandfather whom I called Dad. He was the best man I ever knew, and can only pray to be 1/4th the man he was. It makes me happy to see how your children react to you, with love and respect. My wife and I are unable to have children, and are now past the age to do so, but are considering adoption, and now living here in Idaho it seems the place to do so. I was telling my wife yesterday it feels like we've moved back into the 70s or 80s compared to the area of Washington we lived in, and those were some wonderful times to grow up. I'm rambling here, but your video made me think of so many things, your son driving off when it seemed just last week he was 11 or 12 in some of your early videos. Oh by the way you should toss a an old looking light in the copala sp, it would look really good lit up. Take care, and thank you for having such a wholesome video that reminds me of my own life. Take care, and I look forward to seeing the next one.

Clean up challenge's a lot of us out here for sure. Being a quilter here well sometimes the worst room in my house is my quilting room LOL One day I decided to get organized and that was pretty scary but in the end I now know where pretty much everything is and also rearranged my sewing and serger machine's. Wow it's so nice to walk by that room and say "now doesn't that look good" lolol and it makes me want to go in sit down and create. Amazing that taking just a little time in the beginning of creating various work stations in a room or a garage can do especially when you need a particular tool. I love the new garage/shop and the topper on the roof is beautiful. God's blessings to you all.

Brings back memories of my dad teaching me to change an oil filter so I’d never be dependent on a man, then rewarding me with one of his “kitchen messes” while we watched The Virginian or Bonanza in our old black & white Zenith that lasted right up until they stopped making replacement tubes for it. Mom would come home from visiting kin & light into us for the state of the house, but the father/daughter time was the best as we could talk about anything while we pottered & I learned to do things that have saved me a lot of money over the years.
