Corrupt Toshi is probably the most difficult boss in the game. Toshi demands that you learn your parry timings, but you can easily bait out specific attacks, and practice parrying them, if you know what to look for. When he begins blocking your attacks, complete the block string until he begins to counterattack. He will delay the backhand swing for a second, but as soon as you see him move toward you, press L1 to parry! Also, use an empowered rot arrow when his mask is glowing full orange for an instant stagger during his air phases!

No need to parry, you can disrupt all his melee attacks with the dash attack 😁. Everytime you see him winding up for a melee attack just dash straight into him! 👍

this. two big things missing from the video that really helped me win the fight: 1. dash can interrupt flame sword before he throws it and 2. meteor attack can also be stopped by hitting the mask

If you struggle with parrying you can shield dash into him instead to stagger him. Beat him first attempt after realizing this as it makes the fight significantly easier.

Thank you! This worked like an absolute charm. I never use the parry ability because I suck at the timing. I just kept shield dashing him, which built up my rot attack, then rot hammered him, rinse & repeat 👍

When he goes in the center, you dont need a Rot infused arrow to stagger him. Also when he does the first floating shooting balls attack, you can hit him in the mask and stagger him again

For that second attack, wait for his eyes to glow red before shooting him to get the stagger.

Just beat him after at least 20 tries. What worked for me was using a lot of rot bombs to slow him down. You can almost get the next courage orb during the slowdown. I parried once or twice and that did it for me. I watched your video after killing him, wanted to figure it out on my own. Apparently dashing works really well, didn't use it once 😀. Nice guide !

Shield dash is the absolute ideal way to beat this boss. Dash makes the fight extremely easy, you just dash every time boss try to perform a melee attack and it'll stun him, have few hits and back off. Rise n repeat. Thanks this really helped. Parrying is key. You can parry second or third attack easily even if you are hir by first. My strategy was. 1. Wait and Shield dash through the first attack (or you can throw a bomb to cancel his attack) 2. Then you have an opportunity to hit him. Most effective for me was to Rot hammer (R2+Square) then run and press R2 to do a running heavy strike. Do this every time he is stunned to maximise damage. The last attack also pushes him back which makes it easier to spot and time the next parry. 3. wait for him to come to you and parry. (Practice) 4. Repeat step 2 5. If he does the attack where he hurls multiple fireballs at you double jump and fire a charged arrow at his head this both stuns him and seems to remove the fireballs 6. While dash was good for stunning him/cancelling his attack and buying time if you want to reset his attack and hope he comes at you with the combo, which you can parry 7. If you are even at half health circle around towards the health pickup. Don’t turn and run 50% of the time he hits you in the back and combos you (death). One one is gone circle towards the other 8. When he does the large attack in the middle double jump, charged arrow 9. Practice 10. Good luck 🤞he’s tough, and a little cheap!

Love the game, but this fight puts all of the games flaws on the table. Input delay on parry, lack of signal where your bombs are falling, lack of a proper aim system, the health itens must be directly seen to be activated…

Yeah It's the mechanics of Kena that ruins the game for me. I'm all for hard bosses. But when you design a character with too many flaws and then design a boss that sticks to you like glue. Hitting me while the standing up animation is going on to where I can't even defend myself, I start to lose interest. Cuphead, Hollow Knight, DMC 3/4/5, Elden Ring, Demon Souls, Nioh 2 are some games I can think of where the bosses are challenging without busted character mechanics. When you die, it's all your fault.

I just first want to say that I love your guides - they're perfect. My strat was to spam shield bash and it worked well. I was super aggressive and never gave him a chance to chain/spam his own abilities. Also . . . I'm 60 y/o. It took many attempts - can't remember how many ( sort term memory loss) lol

I found that dashing and using the spirit bomb while mid air does fairly well at stunning him and stopping his attacks.

I just stood back and parried his sword attacks followed by a rot hammer. Then when he went in the air I shot him in the face and then followed that with more rot hammer. Once I had the timing down it wasn't that bad. Your guide definitely helped helped. Thanks

I found shield dashing into him was extremely effective, basically just wait for him to wind up an attack and then interrupt it with a dash. Melted his health down pretty quick. Couple that with a headshot when he started floating and wasn’t too tough once I got the strat down.

When he’s repellent, you can throw bombs at the floor and shooting them to do some chip damage

Mostly what you need to do is when he is about to attack spam the shift ability into him and in most cases it will stop his attack. And as shown in the video when he is about to throw the ice arrow jump and as his mask/eyes turns orange rot arrow into his face.

well after watching your video and trying again and dying 15 plus times i remembered a realisation i had fairly early in the game, i cant parry for shite :( i came close in about my 5th or 6th time when i got him to about 20% ish, the only way i seemed to get the parry was during is 5 string attack, id get hit on the 1st dodge the 2nd and manage to parry the 3rd but i put that down to good luck more than skill as i am completely lost on the timings of his swings, cheers for the video and tips tho and i will persevere with it

I've spent like an hour to learn how to parry his attacks. And I still can't deal with the one imbued with fire. I also can't react fast enough to the one where he dashes towards you if he's too close. Full parry strat is not for me it seems

You can dash into him to stop him from using most melee strikes, but you'll need to keep a close eye on your block meter and make sure not to fully deplete it.
