Good guide. If i made add a couple of things: when checking the wheel, put it straight, put hands on 09 and 15 o'clock position and wiggle to check for bearing play. And second, please clean battery terminals with grit paper if rusted and apply copper grease not wd40.

etienne nel not a lot of info to go on in terms of a diagnosis. Order of things I’d check. Clutch. Pull handbrake on as hard as you can, try driving off. Car should stall and not allow revs to climb whilst engaged. Crank and timing sprockets / pulleys. If none of above. Could be fuelling - try unplugging MAF, see if it changes the fault. If not, unplug O2 sensor - again check for faults. Important to note, unplugging these won’t fix the issue - so don’t expect it to run right, just see if your issue improves. Failing that. Could be a clogged/knackered EGR or even swirl flaps. I had an issue with mine recently. Troubleshooted everything - eventually figured out corrosion on cylinder head had caused a poor earth for the plugs - but of a scratch down and it’s as good as new. Best of luck, hope you get it sorted.

Open the coils and water in number 2, covering almost the whole spark plug. Drain it, drive it, still little missfire and the next day again dry weather works perfectly. Today again rain... Engine light on, service car, little bit working good, little bit on 3 cilinders. Help!!!

Hi Tom thanks very much for the great vid. I have just bought a 2011 vauxhall corsa 1.2 sxi and will be looking to carry out my own service on it in the coming week. your vid will def help me as i am a total novice. Do you know much about the timing belts etc...or have you done any vids on changing them? mine has done 72k and has full service history but no mention of any belts being changed...i think the 1.2 are chain driven...a) is that correct? and b) do you think i need to get that replaced? theres no funny noises at all when driving but I have lost 2 cars previously (admittedly I didn't look after them - lesson learnt) to the belts snapping and killing the engine so I am massively paranoid about that happening again. thanks again for the fantastic vid.
@TomsDriveway5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the big comment its great. The corsa's have timing chains inside them. They are expected to last 100,000 miles but often don't due to incorrect oil change intervals. B). If it's making a chain rattling sound potentially depending on the extent of the rattle. Corsa's do have a rattle sound even with the correct oil viscosity and a new chain and tensioner fitted. Plus the hydraulic lifters are usually fairly loud too.
@TomsDriveway5 жыл бұрын
