Nice quick diag. I had a service call on an OBD 1 7.4 Liter Chevy Truck years ago with a no start condition. Couldn't locate the DLC connector, but gas wet plugs told the story. Disconnected the Engine Coolant Temp sensor connector, put a tiny wire across the contacts, engine fired up and ran. Told driver to bring to shop or tomorrow morning will be wide open choke cold engine! Your awesome!

If I was the shop, I would put a little RTV on that coil pack connection. I had one back off a little and ruin my 🐈 cat. The lock clip becomes very brittle over time and heat. Great Video 👌

As coolant temp sensor is just a thermo resistive device couldnt you find local ambient temp resistance in SI install a variable resistor at that setteing and try starting and running. That just my thoughts. Well spotted though

Lol, sorry Scott, eobd is the best route for baseline running and emissions data. The big guns come out when that doesn't give us what we need, so yes, the expensive stuff has its place farther down the line 😉
