Pure LOVE for this. My dad flew the F4U with the VBF-1 fighter group during WWII. He loved his Corsair. His plane bore the "TT" markings. on the rudder and the wings. I have many old photos. It also bore a "22" number on the fusalage and wing tips.

That Corsair looks like Skipper Riley from Planes. And the other one next to it is GIANT

I personally liked the P46 thunderbolt. Engine of a b17 if I'm right. Like tanks with wings and just brutal fighting planes 💪💪

I love Corsair’s.

I'll bet it costs a pretty penny to keep this gorgeous bird in the air. The extended wings (past the joint), the rudder and elevators were made of painted fabric to save weight. It also made it easier to repair.

These old war birds are impressive. Good video EXCEPT...why was the actual takeoff roll and liftoff edited out? For me, it's one of the reasons I watch such videos.

That plane sounds nice, like a Super Giant muscle car.

If I'm not mistaken, I think I heard the theme for Black Sheep Squadron playing in the background has she came in for a landing.

What would a corsair give from the Navy, a torpedo drop? a pretty fly by?
@TBNTX2 жыл бұрын
The F4U Corsair was a fighter/bomber. It was very agile in the air against the Japanese pilots, but it was highly accurate during bombing passes. The Japanese named it the Whistling Death owing to the sound it made during passes. My late Dad dived on an ISE class battleship Hyuga during a run on the Kure naval base in July 24, 1945, scoring a direct hit. The Japanese ran the Hyuga aground to prevent it being sunk. Look it up online.

Hi there, I was wondering if I could use parts of this video in a top 10 airplane video that im creating? I would be able to give you full credit for the original content. Thanks

Certainly. Thank you for asking beforehand.

I like the red border around the insignia and the Jolly Rogers flag on the cowling ! Wouldn't that have made it VF 84 ?
@get2dachoppa2492 жыл бұрын
No, it would of been VF-17. VF-84 came into being in 1955, and they always flew jets, starting with FJ Fury and ending with Tomcats in 1995. The whole skull & crossbones motif has been part of 5 different & unrelated squadrons since 1943.
