How would you compare the overall feel of the headset to the fidelio x3? Currently using the fidelio x2 as my daily driver. Really love the overall feel of the fidelio compared to other gaming headsets that often feel like loose cheap plastic compared to the robust build of the fidelio (in my mind).

So, if cost was not an object, which would you rather have the Corsair HS80 or the Corsair Virtuosso XT? Is the sound quality about the same or does the Corsair Virtuosso sound better? It seems that the defining features are Bluetooth and the ability for a removable microphone. I personally went with the Corsair HS80 due to saving an extra 20 dollars off and getting them at $129.99. I like the ability to be able to turn them off with the push of a button, but they will turn themselves off after so much time without a signal. I bought a backup pair of Corsair HS60 with for 21.99, but I had Best Buy reward points, just like with the HS80. Very good review.

Compare the Jabra Evolve 2 85 vs Corsair HS80 one is for productivity and the other gaming, They are from two worlds but a cross blend. Sound quality and mic quality is next level on the HS80. For 1/3 of the price.

It only has a USB-C port and cable, nothing for 3.5mm so it won't work out of the box with Xbox.

No it doesnt. That was the reason why i returned the HS. On the Console the bass was so less. Ir you are playin games like warzone, you cant hear the footsteps that clear like on pc. If you want a good HS for console, i woule prefere everytime the jbl quantum 800. for me the best HS for at least the PS5.

Something you didn't cover that I'm curious about is the charging dock. I saw it on the website, but was curious. Does the charging dock have to be plugged in at all times? or can I plug it in only when using it to charge?

There is no charging dock. I think you are mistaken that the Corsair RGB Headset stand looks like a charging dock

yup, plug and play on a MacBook. I actually recorded the mic test in Audition on my Mac. Supposedly iCue works on mac though I've had some trouble getting it set up. Dolby Atmos is also only available on Windows 10

@@BeatzepsProduction i went for the jbl Quantum 800 and i can highly recommend that one. The ANC (Active Noice cancelation) is a must for me now. You wil hear nothing but the game sound and thats a real immersive game changer experience. Old games play almost as new. Hear things i didnt before

Got a set of these coming on Saturday had a set of hs55 1st,weren’t keen on the sound quality and build quality so got a refund and got the void rgb elite they were a great headset but to loose on the head and didn’t like that they were micro usb so decided to get a refund and get these found them on sale for £100,super excited from what I’ve seen the quality and sound on these are amazing especially the mic

Are they supposed to be the new voids? Corsair has an HS line, Void and Virtuoso. They do look the closest to the void desgin but it's branded with HS... I own the latest void and it's really the best headset I ever owned and the one that gived me the best advantage in MP shooters. I guess I'm curious if we are getting an updated version of the void of if this is it. FYI, since you play warzone with the void, I highly suggest you turn on windows sonic, it's so much better than dolby atmos (at least for fps shooter in MP).

Regarding your comment about being curious if this headset fits larger heads: It doesn't. It's smaller than a Steelseries Arctis 7, which I can just barely wear sort of comfortably when it's extended as far as possible. At max extension, the Corsair HS80 doesn't even fully cover my ears. A real shame since the mic is outstanding and sound seemed good from my testing after fiddling with some EQ in the Dolby Access app. I'll be returning my HS80 and will stick to my Corsair Void Elite Wireless, which is a headset that definitely fits bigger heads.

I cannot find any help with these headphones anywhere. Everything just sounds really "tinny" or like it's in a metal box, there's no depth or bass to the headphones. I got these specifically because of the Dolby functionality because my previous ones were Void PRO with Dolby 7.1 Surround and they sound amazing. These just don't sound the same and its driving me crazy as someone who needs sounds to be "The same". I don't know what to do to have bass/depth. not to mention they seem to have compatability issues with a Blue Yeti microphone.

I know your comment is a year old, this reply might help other people. The Corsair HS80 is smaller than a Steelseries Arctis 7, unfortunately. Bought a pair of HS80 and I have to return them since they're too small. A real shame.

@@Eddycut Needs more versatility. I went with Audeze Maxwell-can update firmware on mobile OSes and manipulate the settings on the hardware itself. For people like me who do not have a personal desktop or laptop with Windows or Mac OS, it’s the much better purchase.

Late to answer but I just got a PS5'and bought the HS80. It works perfectly fine. Tempest 3d audio works perfectly and everyone I've played with says the microphone is crystal clear.

Thanks for the review. Well, I just bought it: The MIC is extremely silent. Pumped it up in iCUE to 100, blended the mic to be as close as possible to my mouth, but still very weak. So guys, you have to tweak around to make mic usable volume level. The sub-bass is weak/non existent. Its a comfy, well padded headset, so its not a big surprise, and it can produce bass, but just cannot do that really rumbling feel, sound(even my small onear Plantronics Voyager can do it :D ). So dont by it for bass oriented music, or movies with darker toned explosions. Overall, I'm a bit disappointed, after all the hype reviews. It is just a fine headset with good quality and a superb but silent mic. And a heads up: The headset is a bit small. My head is average sized, little bit on the big side, but the headset is almost too small for me. :D

@@SSZSSX It's not tight, it fits snugly and doesn't annoy me. I've set the strap to the loosest possible setting. It took me a few days to stretch the material out a bit, the first days it was a bit annoying but nowadays I don't even notice it.

honestly from owning this one and returning it if you like to be able to move your mic you can’t at all and if you have a big or even bigger than normal head this won’t fit on you at all do not buy they are genuinely not comfortable on the top of your head even if your head is normally sized the headband adjuster is just not great

I bought a pair of these based on this and other reviews. I am definitely NOT a fan of the headband strap, it just feels wrong. This seems like a cheap solution to avoid putting effort into a proper well-padded headband, or proper height adjustable earcups. There is a good reason respectable non-gaming headphones don't use this method. Even the simple act of adjusting the headband means you have to lift the whole thing off your head and then place it down in the right position. The band feels too thin. I just hate it. Also, I have a lot of trouble getting the mic to consistently work with Microsoft Teams, it could just be a set-up issue, but I did check that all device settings were correct.

If you're a gamer that plays competitive games, don't buy this headset. You'll never be able to achieve the audio balance that you need to enjoy the sound AND sufficiently hear where your competitors are in the game, no matter what eq you use. So many of these KZbinrs are raving about this gaming headset. Clearly, they're just casual gamers....
