Corsair K70 Mk2 White or Black?

thank you for making this video, i’ve been trying to decide between the white and black keyboard for a while now. you really helped me decide which one to pick (i ended up going for the black one) this is a very well made video, you deserve a lot more subscribers!

The K70 RGB MK.2 SE (White) differs from the K70 RGB MK.2 (Black) in few ways, the most notable being the construction of the keycaps. The white keycaps are PBT Double-Shot keycaps which explains the differing layouts of the characters on each key (they have to be this way to better facilitate the Double-Shot construction). PBT is generally considered a superior material in the keyboard enthusiast crowds and being that they are "Double-Shot" means they are composed of two separate layers, one for the white caps and another for the characters embedded into each individual keycap. They are considerably more durable (no paint to fade or chip) over the long term when compared to the typical painted and laser etched keys found on most boards, including the K70 RGB MK.2 in black. Corsair does sell a black PBT Double-Shot set of keycaps for $50 on their site, but unfortunately they did not include it with their black K70 RGB MK.2 like they should have. When purchasing my K70 I went through all of the deciding factors and the PBT is what steered me to the white version, well that and it went pretty nicely with my setup.

Yeah what he said... Thank you for the lesson for sure. I just couldn't get use to the difference in layouts and the colors weren't near as dark as the black one. Also black went better with my set up in the long run!

I would have kept the white. It has much better keycaps (PBT double shot) instead of shitty ABS. This set alone cost 50$ when purchased new. Nice review by the way!

the white SE edition comes with pbt keycaps which is why I chose that over the shitty abs keycaps on the black edition

I'm guessing that they are abbreviated so that they could make the letters bigger so that more light can shine through, making it easier to read. If they spelled it out, the font would be smaller, making it harder to read, and then you would have to ask yourself, does it even matter if I can't read it anyway? I think this works because now there is an even amount of light being spread out across the keyboard. Who cares about those keys that nobody hardly uses? But, the number characters are pretty stupid though. It just looks like they wanted to do something different with no real meaning behind it. It looks stupid, Corsair. But, I still ordered one! lol. Kid thank you... it really makes it all worth the hard work that goes into my videos when I get comments like yours! Yes the Red "LOCK" is a button used to lock the windows key used mostly for when your gaming. The middle "Star" looking button is for your brightness setting in 3 different settings Low., Med, and High. And the 1st " Orange Person " looking button is a preset for 3 individual personal custom RGB settings you create. Hope this answers your question? feel free to ask any other questions you may have! Generally white peripherals are fine provided you are a clean person in general, i actually find black products look worse after a few months due to dust buildup which doesnt show anywhere near as much on white
