I find the LS100 work better with static lighting themes since all LEDs are emitting light. The ambient presets is highly dependent on what you have on the screen eg. watching Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is epic meanwhile most low key movies are lackluster. 99% of the time I use it in static mode to give a nice rear monitor glow.
@UnhingedSystems3 жыл бұрын
The static lighting is definitely a bit better, but they need a brightness setting so that the video setting is good. When I made the entire screen bright red the color emitted from the strips was still barely visible. For what these strips cost they need to have a brightness setting at the very least. For static lighting there are much more cost effective options.

I bought them from Amazon, one of the strips was broke, so they sent a replacement, once I looked at them all working, I was disappointed, so I am returning the replacement and the broken one.. Going to switch to Philips Hue instead, which also works with corsair.

The room I was using as my office space for the last 8 years is pretty small and we don't have air conditioning so during the summer gaming is like hot yoga 🔥🔥🔥 LEDs don't really generate any measurable heat thought.

@@SobanBhatti the lights themselves do not produce heat but the devices do

LEDs produce pretty much no heat at all and the control hub is cold to the touch. Maybe the power supply gets a little warm like they all do.

I think the Philips hue ones are way brighter, but also way more expensive.

Considering this kit had LEDs failing before 1 year was even up, I won't be buying this kind of LED strip again for a while. I plan on doing a lot of Philips Hue additions to the setup. Ideally I want to keep everything in the same software/control environment and short of doing a custom LED controller (which I am considering at this point) most product lines don't cover all of the potential use cases. Thank you for the comment!

Hi, the LS100 starter kit comes with a controller to control the lights. I want to add LS100 1.4 meters strip to the front and back of my desk but the problem is they don't come with that controller that is included in the kit. So my question is how can i power both LS100 1.4 meters strips in my desk? Can i use 1 lighting node pro to power them both or I need 2 lighting node pro? The controller that comes with the kit, Corsair doesn't sell it separately so in order to get it i have to buy another kit and use its controller with both 1.4 meters strips on desk to power them. What should i do in this case and what will be the best scenario in this case? Using lighting node pro or buying another kit to get the LS100 controller.

Is it possible to just install it inside a PC? Like put a lighting in the window side panel (the little gap there) and is it RGBFusion compatible? Thanks
@UnhingedSystems3 жыл бұрын
RGB Fusion doesn't work with a lot of things because Gigabyte doesn't provide good integration support to third parties. Putting it inside the case would be annoying because it requires standard USB for the controller. My LS100 kit already has dead LEDs that don't change color and half a dead strip. This is a horrible product that I just can't recommend to anyone. You would be better off getting some generic ARGB LED strips and connecting them direct to your motherboard.
@j.d.46972 жыл бұрын
Yes it is, it can be set up as non-monitor lighting strips too.
@garyrichards6079 Жыл бұрын
Yes u can fit them in a Case ... if its metal the magnets hold great .. the RGB connections fit into a Commander Pro NP ... I have a Corsair 7000D airflow .. I use x2 450mm along the top & bottom a 350mm down the front side and a 250mm on the back along the MB edge , Running these with QL 140 RGB fans I have a static Red glow that shows the inside of the case real nice ...
@demonpride19754 ай бұрын
i would say buy, but be warned, they are not so much designed for a 27 inch monitor, it can work. but it's very cramped on back. and be warned the magnets are not exactly that strong. i would say definitely get a 32 inch monitor. and it should be a perfect fit.

I've since even tried mounting them "floating" right near the wall and they are still grossly underwhelming. Removing the diffuser will make them brighter but requires soldering to modify the strips.
@egonolsen60223 жыл бұрын
@@UnhingedSystems You dont need to solder anything, all videos about removing diffuser they all claim you need a soldering machine/tool. I can guarantee you DONT because ive just done it without. Just remove cable from the plug and pull out the diffuser and put the cables back in place. Easy and took like 5-10mins. All needed is a needle or so for the hooks on cable in plug Still shitty brightness since video lighting only uses 50% of brightness compared to all other presets but it does help ALOT I bet they have coded their icue for 100% use in their sales videos no doubt!! i paid 110 dollars(i live in denmark) for something i dismantled after 2 hours for the thing to work just a tiny bit.

I want to say it’s due to their translucent silicone that doesn’t allow you to see the LED’s since it “looks cheap” without them. Sure the strip look nice but it’s shooting it’s foot at the same time.

well... corsair's fans are garbage but they have pretty cool rgb, many leds, bright and lots of effects. you'd think that if they sold rgb separately it would be great (especially for this price)... i gues not!
@UnhingedSystems Жыл бұрын
Agreed! Corsair has quite literally the best RGB environment, software, controllers, etc for all things RGB. Their fans are very mid-tier for the most part (I'm big time obsessed with Be Quiet fans right now). If Corsair spent just a little more time thinking about compatibility outside of Corsair (like not using proprietary RGB connectors), and spending more time on quality of function, I think Corsair wouldn't have many successful competitors. I love Corsair products, but they could be so much better with just an ounce more effort as opposed to being arguably "good enough" in most cases.
