Corsair M65 RGB|Repair|Disassemble|Middle mouse button #fix I hope you like n share :)
@georgiosvasilopoulos46504 жыл бұрын
Amazing tip, it worked! BTW, just so you know, you DONT have to dissasemble the whole mouse, after the 2 screws and the pry-open of the cover, even just the front part, clean the button with a small brush, rotating the wheel to make sure you get it all, blow the dust and dirt gently and slightly lift the wheel and gently spray the WD40... Close cover, mush that middle button and thats it! Less than 5 min solution... ;)

For anyone whose watching this in 2020.. the new corsair m65 has one whole motherboard so it’s better to just pry open the top piece, put wd-40 on the cube button and press it repeatedly very fast. No need to take apart the wheel and motherboard. Just fixed mine!

The middle click on my M65 that I bought last May started acting up and required more force than usual. I followed these basic steps, dabbed a little alcohol on the button underneath that the click wheel uses, reassembled and gave it several dozen clicks, works perfectly with barely any effort now. Thank you!

Thank you so much. I actually used thsi fix for the middle button on my Corsair Katar. It is pretty much the same but the dis-assembly is a little different. You have to pry the rubber pads off the bottom of the mouse to access the screws under those. I might have to glue them back on.

Really glad I had the right tools, and really glad I found this video. Mighta broken something otherwise. xD The problem I had was the wheel not scrolling, had some fine hair and dust around the side of the axle that drives the wheel switch (you know what I mean). Cleaned it out and now I can actually scroll/zoom. Happy days.

It worked! Thanks for this! Now the middle button is back, and the left one that was acting like if I've made a double click every time I pressed it once works flawlessly again! WD40 FTW! Perfectly explain for disassembly, even if i stoped when i opened the upper part. As soon as i saw the pression button under the mouse wheel, i took a drop of "essence" (petrol?) with the fine screw, and just touch the button. The liquid directly got inside by capilarity, then i pressed several time, waited it to dry. Now it works as it was new ! Thanks again !

Thanks for the instructions. I was able to take top off by sliding pry tool along sides from front to back and then using a little pressure with hands to pull apart (gently, of course). This way I avoided the dings. Unfortunately for me the problem was that the frosted white plastic piece in the cover that clicks the button mechanism broke. That white frosted piece seems to be part of a greater whole going all the way down to the lighting screen. That piece that broke off is like a semi-thick little roof over two little side walls. Short of finding another broken used mouse for parts, I may have to engineer an alternate solution. In the mean time, currently Best Buy has them on sale for $39 so the cost-benefit ratio prompted me to buy a new one and keep the old one for parts, just in case.
@DIYTech217 жыл бұрын
What about cleaning the two broken parts well and using super glue. It works really well on plastics.

Left click started to double click. I bought new microswitches from a manufacturer that makes them specifically for gaming mice, desoldered the old switches and put in the new ones. No double clicks yet. If it starts acting up again, it's probably bad firmware instead (even though good quality switches aren't supposed to require debouncing, it's good practice to program it in anyway or let user decide) and just to be safe I'll replace them again and solder in capacitors for denouncing.

Back again to clean this mouse. Same problem, scroll wheel sticking because of hair, fluff and stuff. This model is a bad design. Being so open around the wheel just invites junk in. It's a mini vacuum cleaner. To compare, my Dad has a regular cheap mouse that he's had for over 5 years, it has had this problem only once, about 2 months ago, I opened it, cleaned it and in a few minutes it was back together and running like new. Yet this expensive gaming mouse needs to be cleaned about every 6 months and is a pain in the bum to open and fix. What I'm noticing is that over time, even when it's just been cleaned, the scroll action is deteriorating, it sometimes doesn't register that I've scrolled. Thank god I'm not a gamer like my bro who plays fps and uses the wheel to quickly scroll through items... in fact it's no wonder why he gave me this mouse 2 years ago, after only using it for about 8 months :P Go figure. Don't buy this mouse.

Could this work for the left and right buttons? When I let go of my left button it registers it as a click
@DIYTech214 жыл бұрын
Yes it will work. But keep in mind not matter how expensive the mouse it after year use they start doing what u are facing. Cleaning is a temporary fix. It will last for 4-5 months max. Reason : the copper shims inside the click buttons get oxidized and the clicks are not registered properly due to weak current flow. I will make a video on this , might boring for many but will definitely show why the mouse start skipping and double clicking after extensive use. And will share a better/more professional solution to it as well.

Two options. #1 Replace the whole button if you know how to solder. You can get that button from any cheap mouse. They are all same as far as i know so you wont have a problem replacing, the only thing required is soldering. You can even buy the button the part number is D2fc-f #2 Open that small black box and it might be the small part that is just misaligned and you need to put it back at the right place. This small black box has removable cover once you will look close enough you will know how to. How ever here is a pic how it should be from inside once that Black box is opened. i.stack.imgur.com/FCJML.jpg
