I am pretty sure i fixed my left button double clicking issue. And i hope this can help someone else too. I opened up the mouse to potentially replacing the micro switch because i thought that to be the culprit. But none of the other similar micro switches had this fault, so after further inspection i found that the little white nylon plastic pieces that makes contact with the switches, did not look exactly the same. i could see they were designed to be smooth, making a sliding motion over the switch contact when one actuates the button. But the white nylon plastic in the left click button had a tiny divot in it, causing the action to be bumpy and therefore double clicking. I carefully smoothed out the plastic with a nail file, reassembled the mouse, and i have not had any involuntary double clicking since.

Thanks for the info. I have the m65 elite and sometimes my left mouse button doesn't click unless I press down hard. I haven't opened it yet but I've been thinking about cleaning it or investigating the plastic making contact.

Thank you very much, sad that they used such a low quality switch for the MMB. But this will help me extend the life and allow me to fix my original m65 which could barely click with the MMB.

Just a note to everyone, I literally just removed the top cover, lifted the mouse wheel 2mm, used my lungs to blow off any dust inside, and it started working immediately. Didn't need any screws undone, didn't need to unplug any circuits, just needed a clean. My pin wasn't broken, switch wasn't broken, just pesky assorted dust. Damn, shouldn't have skipped that part about the bottom screws at the beginning of the vid. Finally got around to opening up my M65 as of 2019, had it for years, boxed it up when it wasn't going, but I was impatient. There's two layers of cover, the top plastic one came off fine, but I snapped a tiny hooked clip underneath, one of two. Probably should have lifted it with the second layer, with the wires connected. Anyway, snaps back on great and working like gold.

Great to hear your m65 is working again .all problem are different . Get yourself a can of air duster for around $7 .you obviously had dust trapped on the sensor which prevented it to work.

If you know how to solder quiet well you can easily repair the tactical switch. I repaired my RGB Sabre mouse today that I purchase on 18 February 2015 at £49.99, saving me £44.08 of same model of mouse on Amazon UK. I'm happy that I prolonged the use of my mouse. The tactical switch I got cost £0.99 on Ebay for 20 pieces at 6x6x7mm it came from China so it took a little while but it works perfectly. Hope this information may help someone

My mouse wheel broke on my rgb , the plastic end that inserts into the mouse wheel rotation input snapped in there and I tried melting it back on to the wheel but it wouldn’t, I ended up sanding off all the plastic off the rotate input side, using a soldering iron I made and insert into the middle of the wheel and stuck a tooth pick into the rotation input and made sure It was able to rote and trimmed according to size, and just added a drop of glue into the hole I made and called it a day. It’s working and at least I don’t have to buy a new mouse yet...

i have this problem too. a few questions -what is a "dry joint"? -i've googled this problem online, and apparently that switch is tactile and not microswitch, and thats why it doesn't last very long. is it possible to buy a similar microswitch on ebay and solder it onto its place and still have the mouse working? plz reply thx :D
@normandeineko75848 жыл бұрын
Hi Commnados12, A dry joint is when the Solder (which look silver under the board and fix to the component to the board) as lifted off the board and therefore not making contact , causing the problem. Those switches you can buy them 100%, just go to your local Electronic shop . i have jaycar , Rs component.....etc. If your having difficulties finding it , try to spray lightly some contact cleaner first and click the switch about 40 times or so, to get the dirt off the contact inside the switch. Good luck !!!

Good video...my M65 is the older non RGB and it is slightly different as there is no prying the sides grrrr...had an MGB car once most of the time all ya had to do was take whatever it was apart clean it good and it'd go back to working.....be surprised what cleaning will do for things these days...'specially those itty bitty tee-nigh-nee electronic deals

never could get after taking those two screws out to 'pop' up enough to prise it enough to get a complete separation....it really felt like (even after all that 'judicious manipulation') that it wanted to release. felt as though it was going to break something...not as easy as it looks. it would be nice if you'd sit the camera down and start from scratch so I (we) can see exactly how you take that darn top deal off.
@moss84484 жыл бұрын
another quick fix I've seen is to add some thin tape to that contact point because over time it takes more room to depress it properly....think shim.
