I just got this and I love the shape/contours which fits my hand nicely. I like the slim width shape among all my mice! I also like the contours (and weight) of the SteelSeries Aerox 5. The Nightsabre is not receiving much media attention because of its understated and conservative design but I feel its the best fitting mouse for my hand at least.

I'm leaning to the Nightsaber for the sheer fact its made in Indonesia opposed to China.

Good review. I would like Corsair to make a light weight pro mouse under 65g without rgb (battery life). Who is this mouse for and what is it’s identity? For serious FPS it’s too heavy and for MMO it’s lacking buttons. The competition do a wireless mouse much better.

I don't get RGB that wastes battery and isn't visible anyway?! Plus yeah, it's heavy for 2023. But that wasn't too bothersome weirdly.

Yeah, it’s just lacking for 2023. A serious gamer would immediately dismiss it. The casual consumer, might buy it for the right price. Thanks for taking the time to review it.

@@crizzlevideosWhat would you recommend instead? Why is this so bad that I shouldn't even consider this? This was my leading option 😢 I accidentally destroyed my Logitech g903 lightspeed so I need a new mouse. I liked it but wouldn't have minded an extra button or two. My requirements: - Wireless is a must. - I have a medium hand. - I need buttons. Minimum 9, max 16. Max 4 per side. - Price preferably under 200€ but it's not set in stone. Other things: - I mostly play overwatch. - I'm a very visual person so I like the RGB lights (sue me) but they are not a requirement. - I don't mind having to charge a little bit more often, as long as it's less than once a week and there is a clear notification well in advance. - I don't really get the weight thing because I prefer high sensitivity (again, sue me). Out of peer pressure I went down from 6k with 15% to 3,7k with 5%. It just fits my play style better and then there's the fact that my cat takes up half of my mousepad. - If there is a great new one about to be released, I don't mind if I have to wait a few months, I can survive with my current one for a while. I want a mouse that fits my requirements but puts an end to my friend saying I have a shitty mouse 😅

To be fair, the weight of a mouse and whether it's good or not is very subjective in nature. I grew up with heavy gaming mice simply because that was the main thing available to me at the time, and every time I've tried a light-weight mouse, I end up going back to heavier models simply because it feels better and fits my own preferences. And yes I did genuinely try to give the light ones a chance, I didn't just immediately dismiss them straight away because of their weight. I just couldn't get used to them, and I saw my performance drop in most mice heavy games like LoL and CS:GO. Although I do agree with RGB not being needed in a mouse, especially if it's WL. Does it look fancy? Yes. Do you need it? Not at all. It makes sense on a keyboard while using one solid color, especially if you play in a room with little light, but you don't really need that on a mouse even when the room is dark.

I saw a FAQ by corsair that slipstream paired to 2 or more devices limits wired polling to 1ms or more. So I disabled and reset all slipstream connections to 1:1 pairing then disabled and removed them and it still wont go above 2000. Direct wired or through hub makes no difference, forced firmware updates, reinstalled icue etc. Seems they removed it!

Ok the 8k option is there but bugged. I disconnected all my slipstream devices and installed them again and it briefly popped up but disappeared again when I accidently hit the wrong button. Its buggy as crap.

They just updated firmware and still didn't fix the 8k missing option, EDIT: after the third reboot after the firmware update it finally took and now the option exist, but as usual thanks to icue bugs the calibrate to surface function seems messed up now.

@@ash30004 Yeah and the 8k option is there if your using a USB3 port but it keeps turning off after a bit to 2k and you gotta reset it to 8k. Does this even if you save the profile. Turning off sleep mode makes it take longer before you have to reset it.

@@ash30004 Thats odd they marketed it was 8k wired and 2k when using slipstream. Also prior to the latest update of icue there update before this fixed it and I was getting 8k when using a wired connection as intended. Their latest update of icue again brought the bug back making the 8k option appear and disappear. Be aware I have had to deal with Corsair CS multiple times due to faulty products (5 in one year) and often their CS guys have no clue how their own products work and go with generic responses. I have even had one get very out of the way with me and his supervisor had to step in, the guy was wrong and had no clue what he was doing and had me doing support steps needlessly for a month that had no bearing on how the product worked (RAM). I take anything from CS with a grain of salt but hopefully you get your money back.

I have to very strongly recommend against buying this, or any other Corsair mouse for that matter. I first tried the Darkstar, straight out of the box the mouse wheel had issues and felt like it was about to break, so I very stupidly made the decision to try the Nightsabre. I got about 6 hours of use before the wifi stopped working completely. A day later, after trying every possible hack and fix I could find online, I can't even get the mouse to be recognized when plugged in. I have tried every usb port on my computer, with and without iCUE open, and nothing works. I have 20+ years experience using computers, and this is the first time I've been completely stumped trying to get something as simple as a mouse to work. I filed a support ticket and if these issues can easily be resolved (and not come back) I will consider keeping the mouse. However, their support seems atrociously slow and I really don't have high hopes. I have to resort to using a broken mouse for now. TL;DR it's not worth the headache, get another mouse. I should have listened to advice online and gotten the G PRO. Edit: update below

@@xuanhieuhoangnguyen3973 Yeah, I must say the support is pretty decent and I was shipped a replacement for the Nightsabre pretty quickly. I really was hoping for more with the Darkstar but the form factor is honestly terrible after using it for about a week. I can confidently say that the Darkstar is not going to be a good mouse for anyone that plays more than just casual games, and even then it was giving me some hand strain unfortunately because of the way the mouse is shaped. It's not evenly weighted, causing your hand to get tired and certain movements (especially vertical) to be difficult. Even if I didn't play FPS games I don't think I could get used to it. The Nightsabre however has a great form factor, and this new one seems to actually be working, but I'd still advise a lot of caution to anyone wanting to buy one of these mice. The first Nightsabre I had not only stopped connecting, but the middle mouse button would only click on one side. While it's unlikely that I'll get a lot of use out of the side middle mouse buttons, the extra functionality is what you pay for in a mouse like this and it's unacceptable for a button to be completely broken out of the box, especially with all the other issues I faced. I really want to believe that not every product is defective because my current one doesn't seem to have any issues, but time will tell. That being said, the mouse is really great when it does work. It's the most comfortable mouse I've owned and the components feel pretty high quality. It's a mystery to me why I've had so many issues. And to be fair, the reason I bought one in the first place was to get away from Steelseries who IMO makes pretty terrible quality mice as well, so this is likely just par for the course. I haven't owned enough mice to be able to confidently say that these problems are exclusively with Corsair.

Damn if their mice were as bas as you insinuate, they wouldn't even be a company anymore. It's okay to not like a mouse, but man it doesn't sound like corsair makes their mice for you.
@CosmicDeejay
@CosmicDeejay 26 күн бұрын
 @TranceCore3 I thought I left an update here already but I guess it didn't go through so I'll leave one now. I was just unlucky and got shipped two faulty mice, the third one I got (Nightsabre) is actually a great mouse, although it is quite small, and I have very small feminine-like hands so that's really saying something. Even with a claw grip this mouse can be uncomfortable and I use something closer to a fingertip grip with it. The initial process was frustrating as I've never had so many issues with mice before, especially not two different mice but I have to say their customer support was really quick to send me a new one so I don't have any complaints there. Also the build quality of the replacement mouse is perfect so maybe some of the fault was on Amazon's end for sending me faulty mice, I have no idea (they were brand new in box, though). I still cannot reccommend the Darkstar mouse however, the shape is horrible and I am almost certain it will lead to some sort of RSI injury by using it for long periods of time. If you don't play FPS games or need the mouse to be highly accurate it might not be as big of an issue, but I noticed my hand was getting fatigued much quicker with that mouse because most of the weight is towards the top and it didn't feel like it was symmetrically weighted on either axis. I've been using the Nightsaber for a while now and it's a really nice mouse, feels very responsive, battery life is amazing, and the quality feels very solid. The only issue I have is with their clunky software, but it's not nearly as bad as I've seen people make it out to be. Cancel Reply
