Your review is significantly superior to der8auer. Additionally, I believe the CPU fans 1 and 2 are positioned there because the airflow flows straight from the side to the top. GPU fan 1&2 too.

I think the fact derbaurer only used short boost tests to test temps was an oversight. These 30 min real world tests make a lot more sense to me as the cpu boosts initially then settles over time. Well done Dominic 👌🏻

For the Mosfets and VRM, i was going to comment but saw that you did actually test in the follow up and i would agree. While they do have a very high operating ceiling - some are tested up to 150c and i wouldn't expect any 4090 to skimp on this area and so what Corsair are doing is probably fine, but in a build of this cost i would say not ideal, what they have essentially done is mount a universal GPU block with all the future downsides that a GPU with a water-cooling block mounted has for a user that most likely if they are buying this won't have the knowledge to navigate the problems they will face, for example reversing the GPU back to air-cooling to make it more resalable, so if they are going down the Water block route i think they would be better giving them a full water-cooling block and the best complete cooling solution rather than a partial solution

Quite funny but most people arent likely to max out their CPU unless they are doing something like x265 software encoding or rendering. The only times mines at 100% is because windows has decided to do something stupid and waste a load of electricity.

I just randomly came across this video 😁 didn't even know there was some debate about my video vs kitguru? At 2:05. Your different temperature result is not due to the fan curve but the different test. You said you ran something like 30minutes of test which means that you ran into PL1 Power Limit of 200W whereas I was doing a short test that uses the PL2 of 240W. Edit: you even show an average package power draw of 190W in hwinfo. So you miss 50W of power which is less performance and lower Temperature. Has nothing to do with the fan curve

Kitgurus first video, people were asking why there were differences between your review and theirs, so they created this second video to explain some things and run more tests. I watched this video from Kitguru last week when it went up and they were saying basically what you just said in your comment - that you ran short bursty tests and they ran longer duration tests so the power demands were different . I dont think they ever said you were 'wrong', just that their tests were different and ran for longer times- explaining a different work load on the processor. They did mention the idle fan speeds due to firmware/bios differences, but not in the context of what you saying.
@KitGuruTech
@KitGuruTech 8 ай бұрын
hey Roman, no debate here - as the other commenter said really, we just got a few comments on our original video about our results, so i wanted to make a detailed follow up showing exactly how we tested. 100% you are correct, as we used package temps after 30 mins, which hits the 200W PL1 rather than the 240W PL2!

...while my takeaway from this vid was that it's just too much of a compromise with the latest processors. I was intrigued by the size/ design of the Corsair One a few years back, when it had minimal fans and Linus or someone couldn't get it to go over 60 degrees or whatever, but I'm not sure that cramming a 4090 and top-end i9 into such a small box makes sense today. Do Corsair offer bigger pre-built machines?

So are any of the five fans actually connected to the GPU board or the CPU cooler or are they all just connected straight to the motherboard? What if the GPU assembly was replaced with the MSI SUPRIM LIQUID X RTX 4090? Could that AIO’s fans act as push while keeping the top exhaust fans intact for push-pull? Or is there not enough room to mount it all in?
@KitGuruTech
@KitGuruTech 8 ай бұрын
No fans are directly connected to the motherboard, they're linked to each of the AIO using splitters, though there are a few mobo fan headers that you could use. For the Suprim Liquid X, the AIO for that would have to replace the AIO that's currently installed for the GPU

the 14900K definitely runs warm, but that's in its nature. the main problem is that the fans have to run at 100% to keep it below 100c. a 7800x3d would have make more sense IMO for gaming only

First of all Corsair one i500 is claimed as not only gaming but productivity machine as well that is why choose in favour of intel’s top CPU is the best. As for the question about why not 240 radiator with appropriate fans that is real mystery unfortunately🤔.And finally I hope it was some misunderstanding with relations between fans connection and displaying them in the system.

I think the question should be why Corsair chose to go with power hungry very hot Intel if they wanted to offer "gaming pc"? Why not go with Ryzen 3D? For a gaming machine you dont really need anything above 7800X3D and that cpu is alot less power hungry with more menagable temperatures while being faster than Intel in gaming!? Also why 4090? Is that a "must"? 4080 and 7900XTX would do the job well while consuming less power. It's really sad to see new iteration of One series is mess because i really like styling of that case. I wish they offer something similar for DIY market. Im not sure if the case will lose some of it's attractiveness if they made it just a little bit bigger so you can fit tall air cooler and longer gpu inside.
@KitGuruTech
@KitGuruTech 8 ай бұрын
yeah that is a fair point and one we make in this video - for gaming only, the 7800X3D would make a lot more sense given it's as fast if not faster than the i9, plus a lot easier to cool. there is also a 4080 Super version, but no AMD version for the i500
