the side air holes is a MUST if you do live in a tropical área like me here in Manaus/Brazil. and it does not ruin the design because its of course a military rough theme

For the side panel, you could flip the plastic window so that the fan mounts in the plastic were covering up the optical and hard drive bays, thus allowing the plastic to display your components. This is assuming of course that the screws holding the window are symmetrical.

Thank you for the honest & mostly unedited review. All too many cut out the annoying parts but I'm glad ya kept them in. I'm still unsure if I'll get this though because it's just too big. If only they made it in a Micro ATX form factor with the Motherboard laying on it's side.

Watching this because I'm going to buy one, maybe it has been pointed out already but the bottom of the case isn't the only place a radiator goes. They also state it goes on top. The bottom one is only if you really need to use another radiator. Just saying cus you went on about it quite a bit
@Theunforgiven56499 жыл бұрын
I have this case and I couldn't imagine having any other case right now. Especially considering the fact that I move my computer around quite a bit those handles are just brilliant. It's a corsair case what else do you expect other than a well put together case.
@Bassjunkie_17 жыл бұрын
I've had my c70 for around 5 years now. It's the best case I've ever had. I've got it completely decked out with fans, all on a fan controller. The side intakes for me are a must and so are the 4 120mm intakes in push pull configuration for the hdd cages. My only issue is I just got an article freezer 240 the one with the thicker rad and 4 fans. But it's just a tad to big and the ram sinks stop it. I just got given a 560d but the lack of side cooling and front cooling has stopped me side grading to it. So now I am using 2 corsair sp fans off my h80 from 6 years ago. They have massive pressure, anyways I just bought a second hand Evga 980ti sc off ebay for 250 pound.. Bargain. I need decent cooling when I ad this next week.
@Bassjunkie_17 жыл бұрын
That really depends on what you want out of the case. I love the handles and i want side window cooling, even if it ruins the look. I'd say its a great overclocking case due to dual side 140mm fans, quad front intakes, dual top 140mm fans for extraction and a rear 120mm. Would of been nice to have a rear 140mm. I use a fan controller for all my fans so i can control the noise how i like. So for me the C70 is a fine case. I can't say that in 5 years i will have a cooler faster PC and will want something like the err Be quiet 900 case
@Narsty_Boy8 жыл бұрын
I have the gunmetal black one and I absolutely love it. However, the side fan mounts seem to contradict having a window because they obstruct the view. I'm not big on side windows though, so for me it's a happy medium. I'll put transparent fans there just so the pretty LEDs light will pass through them. However to mount the fans you will have to use a stock CPU cooler or a liquid cooler with a radiator.
@Magmatwister12 жыл бұрын
I think you should have mentioned temps too Tom, I think that >might< have bumped it down to an high silver, but regardless this isn't as a bad a case as some people would have you believe. The build quality is freaking excellent.

Honestly the black or white model is much more elegant, and i think you would like it even more. I bought a black model and I can see why you don't prefer the green style . Its looks very different when you get it in black .I also found no problems with the filter mesh either . all in all excellent review of the case
@Zolacolor11 жыл бұрын
Hey! I agree with you. The green colour is different and cool, yet white and black still remains the best looking colours for the case. Also, the advantage of the black & white is they would match the mobo & insides better (it would be hard to match a green case). Also for those looking for transparent windows: mnpctech.com/mnpctech-clear-case-pc-panels/corsair-c70-window-replacement-clear-fan-holes-120mm/

@docferringer7 жыл бұрын
I know this review is old as dirt in tech terms, but they still sell this case. So for anyone that is interested in a side panel without the fan mounts, Corsair sells the windowless version for $20 on corsair.com. Third party sites will also sell you replacement glass or acrylic panels without the fan mounts, and it's a pretty easy mod to do yourself. Overall it's a pretty good case that still has lots of support from the modding community.
@OgreXG12 жыл бұрын
It is possible to do push/pull on the top. I used 4 25mm fans and what I did was move the mount so it's a little farther away from the motherboard. I'm using the ASUS P8Z68-v pro gen3 and the radiator doesn't come in contact with the RAM, you'll just have to be careful plugging fans into the motherboard.
@aeiounix10 жыл бұрын
Power supply is upside down. That's why there isn't any slack in the CPU power cable.
@ghj3444312 жыл бұрын
the point would be the first dual loop that comfortably fits 2 2x120mm rads with at least medium thickness. preferably 60mm + 1 set of fans (p/p would blow my mind). the cm690 is a tight and crowded. that would make them a case pioneer again, instead of a bunch of variants.
@InsomniacJack099 жыл бұрын
I upgraded to the C70 from a lancool k62 (both using stock fans), and my cpu temps alone increased by about 10C under load. So unless you're willing to spend nearly as much on fans as you did on this case, there are better options that cost less. Love the way it looks, but when considering airflow, the design of the hdd cages is downright stupid.
@TheHampo12311 жыл бұрын
I have my windowed side panel with no mess vents! It took me about 45min to do in total! I have to say it looks a lot better with out the holes. Be great if Corsair did a separate side panel we could buy separate!

Um the easiest way to fit a 240 rad in the bottom is to turn your psu around so that the 8pin isn't so tight.
@BFArch0n11 жыл бұрын
Love this case, window can easily be turned to move vents to HD cage area (which I did), just a few screws, no cutting...can also custom fit a solid window with those same screws which I plan to do. My HX750 PSU has no 8 pin too short issues luckily.
@FourtySven11 жыл бұрын
i like the side window because you get to see lightings what if a fan stops spinning? or you hear a different noise its a nice feature to be able to look at the guts of your build and see all is well and running

Strange. I have this case with a iCUE H100i ELITE CAPELLIX installed at the top in an intake configuration and fits normal - lots of room. You should have removed that oversized Noctua fan/sink then measure. Still rocking this case with a R9 5900x, 64GB Corsair RGB RAM, and a 3090FE video card. Oh, and a 850i Corsair power supply.

Yeah not a lot of mid-towers offer the capability to fit 2 radiators though. I agree it's better for aircooling, but it's also better for watercooling than most $139 mid-tower cases. You can't compare it to HAF X or something which costs $30-$50 more.

I, personally, like this case. It is not design for an over the top water cooling rig. It's tailored more for enclosed water cooling kits that are currently on the market or a moderate custom water cooling set up. My case is black and it matches the black Gibabyte MB & Windforce 670 well. I will be replacing the vent side panel with a solid piece of acrylic though. I also hate the way vents look and I believe a solid piece would help reduce fan noise outside the case.
@uv46jb11 жыл бұрын
one thing I'll say for it is that if you match it up with other compenents in a military colour theme, Noctua fans might actually not look too out of place in it

The last thing ever coming to my mind will be that your reviews would be biased. You do very well carried out reviews to the detail of the cheese. Your reviews look to me very non-partisan. And this case got the gold award rightfully. I have it now since a few years with an h100 in the top and it never failed me. I also did put a fan on the side panel and it " reduces" the vrm temps by 2-3 degrees. Ok, you are right... That is useless :-) but otherwise this case looks good and is sturdy. Opened the hinches quite a few times and they never bend or break. The whole thing is made for use in the field.... And it really stands out of the crowd in an understatement like way.
@CountDuckula190812 жыл бұрын
It wasn't the point I was trying to make - most mobo's come with just the one usb 3 header and two usb 2 headers and fire wire header etc. This case seems limited as for some reason the developers have decided to not utilize what most people are going to use. And yes usb 2.0 will be phased out - but it is not like corsair have given four usb 3.0's with this case, making it future proof when mobo's only come with usb 3 headers.
@GarretLarson12 жыл бұрын

@udontseemebutiseeyou12 жыл бұрын
technically yes, but really no. the only thing put out of the way by using m-atx mother is a bit of motherboard pcb, which doesn't really block any airflow. So any differences in airflow will be so minute that I highly doubt there will be any difference in your temps. If you are using an atx case and don't already own the motherboard, then just go atx

Actually, side panel windows are good for coolers like the Twin Frozr 2/3 because they dump heat out of the front of the card, wich makes it harder for cold air from the front to reach the fans, i'll personally be using the side panel fan mount, until i get a 670.

That was kind of R-E-tarded for Corsair to have the mesh and grill for mounting fans on the window but still have 2 pre-installed fans on the hard drive cage side nearest to the motherboard. It makes that mesh a moot point.

@AnnoyingSpoon11 жыл бұрын
It's nothing like a mistake, it can be very usefull when you have a Watercooler like the H100i on the top, pushing down into your case, you'll only have 1 fan to push air out left which is the one on the back, right? Thats where the Sidepanel Fan option comes in, put one or two on there and you have some decend airflow again, Surely it doesnt look good but it sure comes in handy if you dont give a shit about looks.

Hey just wanted everyone to know you can do a push/pull with the H100 or H100i, all I did was not use the screw slots that corsair puts on the top, but used the holes thats there for the air to move threw closer to the front panel and away from the mobo. Works well, will post video response too so that you can get a visual cause I did alot of video watching before I bought my parts and I thought I was going to have to "rig" it for it to work. But like said in video also dep on mobo and fans.
@TheNanoArcher10 жыл бұрын
Just a heads up. I think you said this at 25:45 or so. You said the H100 in push pull would hit the heatsink? The H100 would be the cooling system so there wouldn't be a large heatsink there. Just the H100 cpu head.

All the other Vengeance products (the RAM and all the different peripherals) have that kinda stylish, almost elegant, high-tech look and this case just seems completely different aesthetics-wise.
