Corsair C70 Case Review

This is the case I use currently. It is without a doubt one of the best purchases I made when building. It is transportable and sturdy and looks badass. I love it so much, my new build for 2020 will be built with this case.

Man i beg you, i have This case and the thing on the left of the red Power button keeps flashing. My Pc restarts randonly and um not sure If the flashing light is related to it. Tbh i dont even know whats ir means, do you know what its supposed to be? The symbol looks like a battery but im not sure

I just don't agree with the "Poor cooling". It's got a push pull system at the front, two fans bringing air in and the two hard drive bay fans pushing it into the case. Two on the side panel pulling in cool air, two on the top and an exhaust on the back. It's more airflow then a lot of cases in 2019 provide.

This was my case for 9 years, really solid, and good cable management with the extra room of the channels behind and the bulge in the side panel. Now that I've built a new PC in a new case I think I'll take advantage of the drive bays and use it for a storage server.

You can still install 2 front fans which would be mounted onto the front of the frame, so no interference with the cages whatsoever.

have the white version of this case. and i love it. if i had the chance to buy another case i would buy the same one in a heartbeat.i even got a deal on newegg and got it for $110 and not the full $150 price.

True, push/pull is an option if you want to leave the fans there. My point was that the video really makes you think it comes with no fans except the rear one until the 2:28 mark. That would be a huge oversight for a $150 case if it were true. Better to say there are fans included, but not in the normal location in delivered config, imo.

Still rocking mine after buying it new on Amazon in 2015 for 107 dollars. About to upgrade again soon here to a 790 platform. Running a 280mm top mounted radiator for cpu. One of the best cases ever made in my opinion.

push/pull configuration on the top is not possible with all mobos.. it depends on the motherboard cooling system. corsair suggests a positive pressure inside the case to avoid dust etc.. so move the 2 fans from the drive storage to the front of the case and if you want more airflow.. mount the extra fans on the floor.. that way you will use the dust filters, maximize airflow and have positive pressure(2xfront+2xbottom blowing inside and (radiator fans+rear) blow out this is my suggestion

I'm curious why Corsair decided to put the fans on the HDD cages, rather than pulling it directly in from the front of the case. Anandtech's results showed medicore thermal performance, which I think could be easily improved with just the fan placement and such.

I think the price point for the gunmetal steel version has gone down to $110 USD, and even lower when on sale, so for that price I think this is top rated, corsair 500r is also good quality and cheaper during sales, but it cant support the corsair h105, but the c70 can. Also removing the fans from the hdd cages and mounting them on the front is not difficult.

You say (1:15) no front fans are included. However, you show (2:28) the two included 120mm front fans on the inside of the drive cages. This earlier statement of no front fans is misleading since a person could move the included pair of 120mm fans from the drive cages to the front of the case, unless I am missing something. A viewer may stop watching the video and dismiss the case because of your first comment about the lack of front fans. Otherwise, nice overview! Thanks.

The reviewer states that there were no front intakes, which is true. The intakes you see are inside intake, meant to take air from the front. If you don't want to use the inside fans, you can always transfer them to the front, which is common sense really, and something I would've done if I wanted to save a bit of money. Hardly an oversight if you ask me.

Sorry if you already moved on, but I just bought the C70 in white, however my initial plan was also to get the 500R. Right now the C70 is at least $10 cheaper than the white 500R, but what made my mind was that rigid/classic look of C70 that will never go bad and its almost all steel construction is a great bonus (I hate aluminium fronts). The 500R is the best looking sleek/modern case design, however it is too basic and, like this video said, it lacks personality like most other cases.

The two intake fans inside the case are not called front fans because they're NOT at the front. Those inside fans are for push/pull configuration should the person want to use all the hard drive bays in order to have better airflow once the front intake fans are installed.

yes you can put 2 cards that are triple slot and no push/pull it will hit the ram and cpu power cord

If you want, u can take the panel to a local glass shop and ask for a different panel. I know its added expense on top of 150 bux but...its gonna be something that is urs and unique to ur liking (that is why there is a modding community for comp case) but this is just a subtle way for making ur case stand out and not going out of ur way to learn how to mod case and spend hundreds or even thousands on after market modding stuff...

It's a PCB, not a motherboard. The card is screwed right, it's just heavy so it bent. Probably still works, though, that isn't too bad.

Great review, but two complaints: 1) You should have shown the other colors of the case. (i.e. The Arctic White and the Gunmetal Black versions) 2) The "Poor Airflow" statement is false. Corsair have done testings on CPU and GPU temperature and concluded that the fan placement on the HDD cages really helps the GPU temperature, and since most buyers of this case are gamers it is important. Moreover, if you buy this case you don't need to be a genius to replace the fans to the intake mounts.

I just paid $200 for the gun metal black version of this case. Of course it’s used but in pristine condition.Thesr cases are highly sought after and becoming harder to find in this condition. This is the last PC case I will buy.

I still have my bought-new C70 (green) also in pristine condition and complete. You got a great deal at $200, I've seen them go for that missing both side panels and other parts. Maybe I will gut the 6700k in there and build a maxed out 9000 series into it as a flex.

Do side panel fans help with thermals because new cases don’t offer them. I think as exhaust for the gpu it might work.

The sabertooth z77 is a good motherboard I agree and I will only buy 1 ssd drive The reason I will be getting two 7950's is because I will be going eyefinity(3x s23a950d) I have been debating on whether to get the hx850w or hx1050w.

It's called the PCB. It's an ASUS card with their large Direct CU II cooler and the backplate doesn't seem to be helping with stability of the PCB lol.

Say, I have a case with the standard top slots for fan mounts and I can't figure out how to mount fans to it. Can I just use standard rubber shock dampening plugs? Or what do I need to get a secure fit?

I'll solve your problems, i have both of those cases. 500R haves better airflow, i personally prefer the C70 because of look and how easy it is to open and move. go for artic white no matter which one, its much nicer than the black ;)

what turns me off is the waste of space, that are the optical hard drives. like one is sufficient enough and you probably only ever going to need one, if it all ever gets used. well i guess im gonna have to spend some pocket change to convert them into hard drive bays. otherwise, everything about this case is like every PC users' go-to case. im quite curious of how this sold, Corsair mustve made fortunes from this case

Put a Corsair h100i in the top vent and OC the bitch. The C70 also comes in black and white. The guy made it seem like it only comes in military green. It around $110 now.

I highly disagree, I had that case and not only did it come cracked but It only came with one hard drive bay... So i refunded it, and got the corsair, and its incredible... It's incredibly lightweight, maneuverable, not to mention sexy. The cord management is easy, i mean, I have zero complaints...

This Case is AWESOME!!, but i bought the arctic white because my new motherboard (MAXIMUS VI FORMULA) is red themed and with arctic white i think it will be more beautiful. P.S. i have purchased just for 109$ from amazon.
