This is very cool. I wonder if it could get the sound of a solidbody electric guitar that is being played without an amp, and how would it differ from a piezo pickup?

I am sure you could experiment with an electric, but it will take some experimentation. As a not-guitar-player, I was astounded by the sound picked up in a bass head stock.

@@zeppelindesign Yes - that bass sounded awesome. For a lot of electric players the resonant sound ofa guitar when it is not plugged contains a lot of what we seek in an amplified sound, but it’s almost impossible to obtain that with a regular mic because the sound of the pick is louder than the strings resonating in the body. I think this would shift the balance away from the pick and give more of the resonance of strings and wood.

Maybe it would work well with on a classical guitar? Also it would be nice to have 2 mics coming out of one preamp. You can send me one for testing😉
