Ben your videos are great. I'm 67 and I just bought my Corvair, it's a 1965 Monza 2dr. I've had old cars since high school, back in the early 70s when I started with Edsels for 20 years and then shifted to Model T Fords for 20 years. I look forward to your new videos. 🙂👍

Mine weren't quite that bad, but with over 100,000 miles they were loose. I did the cheap and quick fix. I carefully flattened the metal around the shaft.. Works good. Don't blame the spring. Clean up all the pulleys starting at the throttle pedal.

I swear our cars are twins. So far everything you've done to yours has been on my list. It is really helpful to see some practical fixes on video! Muffler (instead of the ridiculous straight pipes I currently have) and all around wheel cylinders are on my christmas list. Good luck with those brakes!

Thank you, glad it helped! I'm thinking of maybe new spring kits all around for the drums, new shoes obviously and wheel cylinders. With a fresh cut on the drums!

Good job on the throttle linkage & thanks 4 the laugh on the 5hp. gain! I was thinking at least 10hp. gain 5 for each bank ( LOL )& the red does really look good ties in with the pin stripe on the outside of the Vair along with the interior!& throttle response was awesome, great job.& thanks for the video

Thanks Ben. I’m going to do this when I reinstall the engine. Try lubing the hell outta the nylon if it starts to stick again.

most of the slop was there when the car was new, typical GM quality !

And it only cost me $3 😎

Next time just use Hot Glue. it will fill in the gap, hang on to the mount and make a perfect fit. just make sure you lube the shaft first.
