Derek, your videos are like therapy to me and I... ain't... kiddin' ya! In this world of one-second-scene-fast-cut-videos the relaxed dynamic of you videos is just what a fella needs to wind down, take a deep breath, and remember what life is about. No need to explain.... you know what I mean. With your calm and always composed and optimistic personality (and communication style), your videos are downright Zen to me. Your positive attitude approaching any issue you encounter is inspiring. Too many people nowadays give up at the first sign of trouble... not you! Whenever I feel anxious (so, um.. every day) I watch one of your videos and I get that feeling that everything is all right with the world and there is still chance for the humanity (nope... just escaping the reality). Your ethics and your values are something very rare in this world. To me your videos represent the America we all wish we could get back. It's "mind-bottling" that something like your channel exists in 2023! Please keep on doing what your are doing as the fellas watching your channel need you. Ooff da, man! What a comment!!! One of the best things a mechanic/machinist can do when employing their technical skillls is to recongnize their limitations and call in one who is proficient with this issue - liked the move to the more experienced gentleman who appeared to be finishing up the re-do on the engine. I'm going to gently massage this hump, run it through the English wheel..... that was so funny I had to back up the video and watch it again. My Dad had a 77 Monte that was in fantastic shape. His brother bought it new and let it sit after a year because he thought it would be a collector's item when they did the redesign and made them tiny. This body style has always been a favorite of mine because of that car. It had Corvette rally rims and 60's on all 4 corners and of course air shocks to give it that 80's classic rake. Only had a 305 and was slow, but rode like a dream and was a great cruiser. Hope you keep this one around for a long time.

Well, let me start off by thanking you. Not only for the great content, but for inspiring me to take on my very own revival myself. A friend had a 1989 Fleetwood bounder rv that wouldn’t start and asked if I could help, well knowing it carries the 454 big blockasesss in the power barn, I knew from watching all of your videos, that we just need fuel spark and air. Turned out that all she needed was a new electric pump in the tank and bam. She started right up. I tested the theory by hooking up an edlebrocken clicky clacky from a fuel tank to the mechanical pump and that answered all my questions. I was going to film it but since watching your videos, you not only have changed my outlook on classic cars but you have completely change my vocabulary and I can’t help but to take on the VGG terminology for just about everything. What in the devil has become a household saying. 😂 I know this is a long one but honestly, thank you! Your humor, sayings, knowledge and drive to save another car from the wrecker is infectious and I have the VGG bug. I’m going to get what I can out of this RV but with 60k miles on the motor I’m very much planning to pull it and save yet another car from the salvage yard. The RV it’s self has seen some stuff that I won’t speak of but that Chevy blood it THICK, and I ain’t kiddin ya! Thank you for being you and keep on keepin on!

Sometimes if your drive shaft is like an inch too long, check the front yoke in the trans... Sometimes it's the end of the yoke that bottoms out inside the trans, but you still have some of the smooth sealing part of the yoke left hanging out of the seal. In that case, one can nip an inch or so off the yoke, and it will fit. I've gotten away with this several times, even on some sub-10 second cars, with no issues. Edit: Oh for goodness sakes... A guy paused the video when I made the above comment, right BEFORE you got to the point of nipping the yoke off, and I see that you're already aware of this "shortcut"... I'm an idiot, I should have known... 🍻
