Thanks for watching Cory Wong - Gumshu Ft. Tomo Fujita video and asking me about how our collaboration came and how to play solo over C7 A7 D7 G7 (1625 chord progressions) so I explained my soloing/improvisation approach on this song Gumshu. Let me know what your reaction on this reply video?

I'm a very lucky person. My top three favorite guitarists are Tomo Fujita, Tom Misch and Cory Wong. I discovered them independently but in the last 5 years they all came together and made songs in every possible combination. I believe if John Mayer was more active these days he would have joined this circle.

I have a video request/idea for you, it will be a rather long comment so I don't expect you to read all of it, but I will still send it! I am guessing that many of your subscribers are intermediate guitar players who have other professional careers. I think it would be cool if you can make a video like "How and what would I practice if I wasn't a professional guitarist". The idea is if what would you do if the only thing you could play was standart barre chords and pentatonic scale but you only had 20-30 minutes a day to practice. What kind of a routine you would have in that situation? I think that would be really valuable information for people like me and there are videos like this but not so many people talk about a roadmap or routine. For example right now i am good at triads in the top three strings but not in the other string sets. So I started practicing that. But I also love your videos on arpeggios, spread triads and swing rhytm. Since i have limited time to practice I need to make a decision between learning basic triads perfectly or jumping to arpeggios, spread triads or swing rhytm. When that happens I try to combine all of them into my routine but I have two problems. First, it gets really complicated what to practice. Second, it feels like im wasting my time. Because when i divide my practice time to 4 or 5 different things, I can only practice each skill for 5 minutes. I feel like could have played only basic triads for 20 minutes and maybe that would be better... Would it be better though? I have no idea...
@TomoFujitaMusic
@TomoFujitaMusic 5 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for sharing. I read it all. Great idea! Foundation! Practice Routine! So happy to hear that. Very important to not memorize anything. Understand them super slowly and learn them. Nothing is perfect but you need to stay on simple triads for a long time so that you gain your road map on the fretboard! Thank you so much! I teach all the detail lessons at my Guitar Wisdom if you want to learn guitar in depths.
