I was a little lost the meaning of this song the first times I heard it, so here is my insight to help - if I can: Faithful are the wounds of a friend is written in proverbs 27.6 - it means that a friend that hurts you out of love does it with a purpose He also says in the song "faithful Lord are the dealings ( doings/choices) of your hands" This song says that even though we feel lost, in trials, lost and hurting, we can, if we stop looking at our own pain and look at our Father, remember that everything He does has a purpose and He only wants us to grow So that's what I understood

(Proverbs <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="1626">27:6</a>, NKJV) - Now put that into the context of Judas who kissed, but was an enem and Jesus who let's himself be wounded and calls Judas "Friend".

But, we know we are safe with a friend because they love us. They only give advise as helpful, right? God disciples his children. It's my understanding that the friend is Jesus (God), He sticks closer than a brother. The wounds are correction and from sin and the wounds cause us to cry out to God and work repentance. And that is what changed me. I love Cory's music inspired by his intimacy with Father God and Jesus and Holy Spirit. Cory's music takes me into my spirit with God.

I think that's the meaning, we are wounded by this life and the Lord uses those wounds to change us. The potter and the clay. He works it for our good. He brings us out and through the suffering and when we trust Him after we come to get to know Him we know His love is perfect for us.

Well... I think God gave Cory the words to this song for me 😔 Since April 13. 2017 I've felt like I was sucked up by a vortex, spinning in a whirlwind and I can't make it stop.
