For the scoring method, I would never have guessed to manipulate the longer side of the acrylic for a more even cut - but that actually makes total sense.

I liked the way you made that wooden jig to saw plexiglass so much that I designed and made one for myself. I made mine so that you don't need a sacrificial sheet of wood to make clean cuts. I tested two saws and found that I a cross-cut-saw is a lot better than a rip saw. Now I can make super accurate and clean cuts from 1/16" to 1/2" thick plexiglass sheets. Finally, my jig allows you to sand and or polish your cut piece if you desire to do so. I am thinking about making a KZbin video for people who may want to make one for themselves. Thank you so much for that Idea.

Thanks for this great, easy to understand video. I'm going to use your instructions to make a nail polish storage shelf for my mom's nail shop. I don't have a saw and will try the scoring method on recycled sheets. I wanna build a really nice and economical shelf using leftover acrylic sheets, thrifted fancy frames, an old mirror, aluminum foil and leftover wood PLUS I want the whole thing lit up with soft led light strips so no one has to bother remembering to replace the batteries in them string lights. It'll be just as good, if not better than the $850+ dollar inspo ones, wish me luck

Hey awesome amount of detail without too much extra info and also not going too fast. Plus we Americans think a British accent makes someone sound super smart. Excellent production including the multiple angles and well timed cuts. Sandwiching material between other pieces when sanding the edge. My god the time and frustration this stupidly easy tip would have saved me over the years. 🤣🤣

Captain here; I see that not many people know this (not even the guy in the video): You should turn your xacto knife upside down. The exacto knife has a notch on its first segment on the opposite side of the sharp edge. THAT NOTCH is specifically made to score a deep cut into the acrilyc, and that will make it easier and faster to snap the acrilyc. -flies away-.
