The cast was genuinely afraid of the T-Rex. In an interview with Stan Winston, he said "Those actors were dealing with a life size T-Rex that could kill them. So, they didn't have to act afraid, they were afraid" This was also backed up by Jeff Goldblum who said that everyone on set were told to shut off their electronics whenever the T-Rex was turned on as there were real fears that it could cause it to malfunction - putting everyone in danger.

@vinnyvtec87226 жыл бұрын
You are soooo right. Jurassic park was so realistic. I miss the days too where i got engrossed in a film and felt like i was there as it was so real. Newer films that are mostly cgi just dont have that feel. Jurassic world (not the newest one) just pissed me off. The way the raptors move is just so unnatural when they are running etc and i dont know if this makes sense but they seem flat, almost as if they dont look 3D. The alien films were the same. Alien and aliens felt realistic, alien 3 was very cgi and it showed and alien resurrection was so piss poor with cgi fakery that i didnt know whether to laugh or cry when i saw it, as alien and aliens are still my all time fav movies ever with jurassic park and the lost world being just behind them. How can cinema go so backwards with the advancement of technology? I guess its to do with cost. Guessing its cheaper to cgi a whole movie than make animatronics. Shame though. We really need a director to put a huge amount of money into making a fully animatronic jurassic park or alien film again. Having said that though, films like jp and aliens will be remembered as classics in time because they are beautifully done, but directors dont care about that, to them its a case of how quickly can i get this film done at the lowest cost to make a huge amount of money quickly. Its sad really. Money makes people not see the bigger picture (excuse the pun).

Like the pteranodons and dimorphodons, the scene with the gyrosphere(too many dinosaurs to be made as animatronics and the dinosaurs were also running in that scene), the T-Rex vs Indominus fight scene would have been hard to be made with animatronics and the mosasaur would have been imbossible as well

Now that the technology is far ahead, we need to see more of these extinct masterpieces revived using animatronics!! :D

Jurassic Park and Lost World is a master piece of animatronics and nothing has come close to what they did back then.

I'd like to consider myself pretty in-touch with movie effects. Yet my mind was blown when I realized the Jeep scene was filmed in an indoor studio!

So the puppet end up weighing as much as a real T-Rex. Awesome !
I really respect the way they made the T-rex more realistic than CGI .. and I'm still excited to see back first and second movie. 🙂

Even knowing that it was just an animatronic that probably would have still scared the shit out of me. Especially if I saw it moving on it's own lol. The sheer size of it and attention to detail is incredible. They did a fantastic job creating it. It looks so realistitic.

Didnt expect to get a reply ! So after emailing with the Stan Winston school of technology. They told me that after filming had been completed for the raining break out scene that due to the rain there was a lot of water damage to rexy and the latex started to rot and she was dismantled. Super sad right ? I’m glad that they were able to reuse the bull T. rex from jp2 for the trex in jp3.
@SatansFire6 жыл бұрын
Already admired how well done the animatronics were but never considered how damaging the water would be... Definitely have more of an appreciation now.

For my question where did the lawyer go after he got eaten or do they have a holding area in the anima Tronic
@chinchy1116 жыл бұрын
wolf spirit theres a youtube video showing how they did that scene. Right after the rex bit him they used computer graphics for the lawyers body
@SpielSatzFail6 жыл бұрын
As chincy said plus the Rex was of course fully CGI in this scene. So they just had to remove the real actor from the point when the Rex would lift him up.
@Bonniethebunny6 жыл бұрын
Watching the extra features, they said once the rex got the lawyer into its mouth, they replaced him with a ragdoll.
