@@PerryRomanowski for becoming cosmetic chemist which one is best 1. Chemical engineering, 2. Bsc in chemistry, 3. Material science engineering? I just graduated from high school I am going abroad for further studies but I don't know which subject should I take to become one.?

@@nikisha-25 It depends on the company but for most companies BSC in Chemistry is most valuable. However, a company like L'Oreal likes to hire Chemical Engineers.

You would need a degree in Chemistry to become a cosmetic chemist in the industry.

if you were still a student, which courses or classes would you take to benefit your career outside the ones they give us in the academic curriculum ?
@PerryRomanowski2 жыл бұрын
Taking a course on marketing would be helpful. The cosmetic industry makes a lot of decisions based on what is best for the business and consumer. They don't teach you that in your science courses.

Is taking biochemistry better than chemistry for cosmetic chemistry path?
@thejoggler2 жыл бұрын
No, I think ultimately getting a chemistry degree is more useful. But it's also helpful to take some biology & biochemistry courses.

Hi! :) I have one question about formulating :) Can you help me with UV/light stability of emuslion. I used carrot oil (INCI: Glycine Soja (A), Daucus carota (F), Carotene (F)), but the colour of emulsion fades away on sun light (in approx. 2 months). Thanks and best regards from Slovenia :)
@CosmeticChemist6 жыл бұрын
Well, you need to add an antioxidant which could help and keep the product in opaque packaging could help too. Color stability is difficult. Synthetic colors are more reliable (and legal)

Hello, I have a bachelor in Health Science and a Masters in Science in Medicine to be a physician assistant. I would love to enter this field, but I just spent 6 years in school and would hate to go back. To fully immerse myself in the cosmetic chemist field, do you feel like it is necessary for me to go back and get another masters in chemistry? Or can I just use your courses on your website?
@thejoggler2 жыл бұрын
You don't really need more formal schooling to become a cosmetic chemist. It would help to have a chemistry degree but you may still qualify to become a cosmetic chemist. Taking a course like ours will give you the most useful background knowledge to apply for and do well in job interviews. That is the route I would suggest.
