But where is the outlet supposed to be in relation to the hood? How far? Inside the hood or inside the stack??

Inside the stack so the outlet and cord is hidden. I’d also install a gfci outlet if you don’t already have one there. A good place to install the outlet would probably be about 4-4.5above where the surface of the stove is, so usually around 7-7.5 feet from the ground. That’s because average stoves height is about 3 feet. The the bottom of the hood should be about 30 inches to 3 feet about the surface of the stove. Then the hood part is about a foot tall and you need the outlet to be above all that. It’s probably also better to have the outlet on the higher end, since you can always adjust the stack height to cover it.

I thought the video was good to show installation, but i had my question answered within the first 20 seconds of watching it. I just wanted to know where to install power... THERE ISN'T ANY MENTION OF IT IN THE MANUAL THAT CAME WITH THE HOOD! just a pic or some dimensions would have been nice. I've been an electrician for over 20yrs and i assumed it would be in the cover somewhere and obviously not so far away from the hood that the cord didn't reach but i just like confirmation from the manufacturer. For the love of God and the sanity of those who install this stuff... put it in the manual. You can't possibly care about the amount of paper you put in there cuz you give out enough manuals in 73 different languages to choke a goat. What is just a little bit more. Thanks for the vid anyway...

Can't plug it in behind the chimney because there's no space. Can't plug it in outside the chimney because there's no cable route to exit the chimney. What did you guys do?

@@Grow_Your_Food there is space within the chimney, and the cord is already wired directly into the hood.
