If someone recommends me to watch a show and they tell me to skip a few episodes or seasongs until you get to the "good part", it makes me think the show might not actually be good and question people who stuck around if they thought the first parts were bad. I just find it funny even when recommending TCW, Cosmonaut still uses his bias and acts demanding that you skip the "bad stuff". Maybe he should let people watch everything and let them come up with their own conclusions.

Cosmo definitely isn't a casual fan, in all honesty he doesn't sound like a fan at all. A show shouldn't be defined by singular episodes and arcs. It says a lot about the show and the person recommending it when they tell you to skip episodes and watch the supposed "Good Stuff". It's funny to me that I cannot remember most lines from a show I watched almost religiously as a kid, but I can remember tons of them from the movies by memory alone, that and the blatant disregard that Cosmo has for nuance and grey morality when it comes to character portrayals and writing. For being a "critic" he's either really bad with his biases or a bad grifter for easy clicks and views. It's funny that of the two lines I can remember from the show one is about the lore break of winning every battle but still losing the war from Obi-Wan and the other is about cleaning up after wild animals by a Battle Droid no less. Speaks alot of volumes about the shows content. Cosmo's a literal who that got big for parroting the same boring shit every armchair media critic does when they think they got something to say.

Have you seen what these idiots try to "analyse" on theit YT channels? Cosmonaut, RLM, etc, all they watch is blockbusters and films from the last 40 years. Half of the shit they talk about is MCU, one of the lowest common denominators of modern Cinema. Fortunately, there's loads of amazing Independent Cinema but these braindead retards can't even grasp that you can go to the cinema a see a film that wasn't produced by a major Hollywood studio in 2023. When all you watch is shit you expect for everything to be shit. I just laugh when I hear one of these idiots call themselves a "movie buff"... Mate, you're not a "movie buff". It's if you asked for Anthony Fantano, but instead of having someone who has listened to thousands of records (albums, EPs, demos, live albums, compilations, promos, etc), goes to music shows, collects music physically, knows musicians, knows the music industry, actually can play and write music, it's as if you asked for Anthony Fantano but he only listens to music that Spotify recommends.

I'm sorry but did he seriously just tell us that TCW Anakin is way better than RotS Anakin? The whole point of the prequel trilogy was to show us the tragedy of Darth Vader. So Anakin's impetuousness, his impatience, determination and unwillingness to let the people close to him go are one of the contributing factors to his fall. He's not supposed to be 'mature' or 'level-headed'. Geez. I don't consider myself the most hardcore Star Wars fan, but even I know Anakin was never meant to be a role model for kids like his Clone Wars counterpart.

@@Jdudec367 This might not be the channel for you as you're clearly a Disney/animated Clone Wars fan considering your comment history here. Also, TCW Anakin is PG-13 compared to the movies, and to something like the CWMMP version of him. They had to make him kid-friendly because it was a Disney cartoon show and because they had to give him a Padawan, but they gave that story 0 depth. He also goes dark for a few seconds in the show during Obi-Wan's fake death, but I still can't see him going crazy and murdering everybody in the room which is a problem since they've cultivated an image of CGI Anakin as a level headed mature Jedi Knight and not someone who regularly struggles with his anger and excess of emotions. So yeah TCW Anakin sucks, and I'm not interested in debating a Disney shill like you about it since all we're gonna be doing is going back and forth with no one changing their minds about anything.
@Jdudec367
@Jdudec367 11 ай бұрын
@@thedarkestfateful Probably. PG-13? Ok and? What is your point? PG-13 is pretty good. Huh? No it was still the same Anakin and Star Wars was always at most PG-13. And giving him a padawan doesn`t mean it is any less dark and they gave that story depth with Ahsoka and Anakin`s story and character development. It isn`t a problem as CGI Anakin does struggle with his anger and excess of emotions at times still. So no TCW Anakin doesn`t suck, and I`m not a disney shill. But sure agree to disagree.

@@ArvelDrethYes. There is some legitimate criticism to be had but channels like this blow it up and at out of proportion. TCW contradicting the Clone Wars multimedia project is not a very big deal because it was explicitly outlined as a lower level of canon that could and would be over-written by higher canon. Other issues, such as Anakin having a Padawan, are not as crazy continuity errors as Grievous not meeting Obi-Wan before. (Why would he be explain about being trained in the Jedi arts when they’ve crossed paths so many times) Though the show did stick to stuff like Anakin not meeting Grievous. @@superjlk_9538 Anakin and Vader are the exact same person. That's the thing everybody, including most of the characters and writers, struggles with. Obi-Wan and Vader were both in denial when they claimed that Vader and Anakin were two different people and even the Force itself found a loophole with Hayden Christiansen turning up as Anakin's Force Ghost. But when you get to the core of the matter, Anakin and Vader are one and the same. This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker, forever: The first dawn of light in your universe brings pain. The light burns you. It will always burn you. Part of you will always lie upon black glass sand beside a lake of fire while flames chew upon your flesh. You can hear yourself breathing. It comes hard, and harsh, and it scrapes nerves already raw, but you cannot stop it. You can never stop it. You cannot even slow it down. You don't even have lungs anymore. Mechanisms hardwired into your chest breathe for you. They will pump oxygen into your bloodstream forever. "Lord Vader? Lord Vader, can you hear me?" And you can't, not in the way you once did. Sensors in the shell that prisons your head trickle meaning directly into your brain. You open your scorched-pale eyes; optical sensors integrate light and shadow into a hideous simulacrum of the world around you. Or perhaps the simulacrum is perfect, and it is the world that is hideous. Padme? Are you here? Are you all right? you try to say, but another voice speaks for you, out from the vocabulator that serves you for burned-away lips and tongue and throat. "Padme? Are you here? Are you all right?" I'm very sorry, Lord Vader. I'm afraid she died. It seems in your anger, you killed her. This burns hotter than the lava had. "No... no, it is not possible!" You loved her. You will always love her. You could never will her death. Never. But you remember... You remember all of it. You remember the dragon that you brought Vader forth from your heart to slay. You remember the cold venom in Vader's blood. You remember the furnace of Vader's fury, and the black hatred of seizing her throat to silence her lying mouth- And there is one blazing moment in which you finally understand that there was no dragon. That there was no Vader. That there was only you. Only Anakin Skywalker. That it was all you. Is you. Only you. You did it. You killed her. You killed her because, finally, when you could have saved her, when you could have gone away with her, when you could have been thinking about her, you were thinking about yourself... It is in this blazing moment that you finally understand the trap of the dark side, the final cruelty of the Sith-because now yourself is all you will ever have. And you rage and scream and reach through the Force to crush the shadow who has destroyed you, but you are so far less now than what you were, you are more than half machine, you are like a painter gone blind, a composer gone deaf, you can remember where the power was but the power you can touch is only a memory, and so with all your world-destroying fury it is only droids around you that implode, and equipment, and the table on which you were strapped shatters, and in the end, you cannot touch the shadow. In the end, you do not even want to. In the end, the shadow is all you have left. Because the shadow understands you, the shadow forgives you, the shadow gathers you unto itself-and within your furnace heart, you burn in your own flame. This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker… Forever…

What bothers me is not the fact that people enjoy TCW. No, I don't mind that. What bothers me is the fact that people constantly say that it is the best piece of Star Wars since The Empire Strikes Back. I mean, seriously? I enjoy the show myself, but to say that it's the best piece of Star Wars media is the most unbalanced judgment ever. Yes, it's entertaining, it's fun to watch, and has good moments. But people only remember the good parts of the show, and intentionally ignores the bad parts, like the uncountable numbers of filler episodes that served no purpose whatsoever. And don't get me wrong, I, myself, am able to enjoy those filler episodes when I'm in a good mood, but we have to be honest: we could eliminate 50% of the show's episodes and nothing would change, because the show is mostly filler. Not to mention, the show completely destroyed the continuity it was supposed to exist within when it was created, and contradicts some of the things that were heavily implied by the movies themselves. So yeah, there is nothing wrong with enjoying TCW, but people really need to start pulling out more balanced judgments. To say that TCW is the best piece of Star Wars since the Original Trilogy is absurd.

"listen to me about how TCW is so good" - proceeds to state how season 1 is bad -recommends very specific arcs that make up less than 1/20th of the show -keeps pronouncing main character's name as "uh-SHOW-kah" I get why people love TCW, I recognize that there are objectively good aspects of it; but I don't like it, I don't like its retconning of the EU prior to it, and while I think Ahsoka is a great character (when taking all of the stories and content she is in, her devleopment, etc), she is fundamentally damaging to Anakin's development and arc, and to the universe as a whole. So if anyone loves TCW? Cool, fine by me. People wanna recommend it and praise it? Sure, go for it. I won't condemn anybody for it, or belittle their fandomship, but I likewise don't wanna hear b.s. about how it makes the Prequels "work" or "better". The EU did just fine continuing and expanding what we got in the movies. (And I'm not even a Prequel fan nor hater, I have mixed views on them, but I don't thing they're garbage. Hell, I REALLY LIKED Rebels, but I also have some serious issues with it too.)

Eh.....season 1 isn`t that bad. Ahsoka isn`t damaging to Anakin`s development and arc at all or the universe either.
@magustobias8827
@magustobias8827 11 ай бұрын
@@Jdudec367 I didn't say Season 1 was bad; Cosmonaut did, while simultaneously stating how great the entire show was. That was my point. Okay. *Cracks knuckles* I have been waiting for years for someone to call my hand on this. Literally YEARS. So we'll get the easy part out of the way. Ahsoka's effect on the universe as a whole is damaging. How and why? Simple. Because she survived Order 66. As of current New Canon, we have upwards of 100 Jedi that survived Order 66, including Ahsoka. The point and significance of Luke becoming a Jedi Knight is because there are no more Jedi by that point. Obi Wan is dead, and Yoda, while still wise and powerful, walked away from the fight, due to not being prepared, etc. Until we get additional information, Cal Kestis is alive and active, and is shown to be a proficient Jedi. Ahsoka is alive and active, and not only a proficient Jedi, but given Anakin was her master, probably the most well trained and powerful Jedi (or Force user, if you wanna be a stickler). Given the characterization of her abilities, there is no reason why Ahsoka could not have already been an active, on-scene participant throughout the reign of the Empire. She was only even scarcely aware of Darth Vader up until Rebels. She did not try to keep the Order alive, like Obi Wan and Yoda had tried to do by just surviving. Granted, Ahsoka becomes trapped on Malachor until, it seemed, after the events of the Original Trilogy. But that doesn't explain not excuse her lack of direct involvement up until Rebels outside of information gathering. It's also made abundantly clear during Rebels that she was far superior to any and all Inquisitors, where even Kanan and Ezra had great difficulty. She even could have killed Vader herself during their duel, had she not been emotionally attached and compromised. In both canons, the Empire's remnants break apart as soon as the Emperor is destroyed. If Ahsoka is shown to be comparable to Vader, if she's no longer a Jedi (as she herself states, therefore, attack and aggression is no longer a standard for what she can or can't do), and she has at least two Jedi associates of considerable talent, Kanan and Ezra, and potentially even Maul, to lead a strike against the Emperor and Vader, they have fairly decent odds of success. But she doesn't. While that might work great for her own character arc and development, it's just as bad of an impact on the galaxy as it is when Obi-Wan duels Vader and LETS HIM LIVE. (Though it could be argued that perhaps Ahsoka believed Vader had died in the collapse of the Temple on Malachor. That's admittedly plausible, but doesn't nullify her lack of action up to that point.) Then you have the fact that Ahsoka returns when she is able to after the war has ended. Even in New Canon, Luke Skywalker isn't a secret. They barely interact, she doesn't pass on any teachings to him, even as moralistic lessons of what the old Jedi Order did wrong, in her opinion, nothing. Hell she doesn't even point Mando and Grogu in his direction, despite the fact she's aware of him. The very fact she exists in the galaxy hinders and causes problems for what other characters do and don't do, and her actions or lack there of hinder what other possible outcomes could be achieved, if not at least attempted. Even further, with the new series focusing on her, she fails to keep Grand Admiral Thrawn from returning to the galaxy with a literal new army. So yeah, her just being present and even involved causes problems. Then we have her detrimental effect on Anakin's arc and development. Giving Anakin a Padawan who then walks away from the order and him, after building a dynamic and relationship, a family member of sorts, would and should have hastened his fall to the Dark Side. When we look at Revenge of the Sith, by this point, his life outside the order is conflicted but couldn't be better; he has Padme, he's about to have a child, he's able to see her privately pretty often, albeit semi-discreetly, and even has the mindset of not caring anymore if thr Jedi find out. In regards to his life in the order, he, in his eyes, is still being held back, treated disrespectfully, and disagrees with most of the Council's decisions. Then you add in the prophetic dreams he has. Had Ahsoka been completely absent after walking away from the Order, that COULD have worked and added to Anakin's sense of isolation, which builds throughout the events of the movie, but the fact that she IS PRESENT thanks to the 7th Season, means that someone he cared about just as much as Obi Wan is around, and not only that but someone who LEFT the Order and did so in a way unlike Dooku. Someone who Anakin could have, and given their relationship in TCW, WOULD have confided in and talked to at some point. Anakin at no point even thinks about or considers what could or would happen to Ahsoka acting as a defacto Jedi for the siege of Mandalore, and as we are SHOWN, he only even bothers to investigate the site of the crashed Venerator years after the fact. By adding Ahsoka to the story, as a whole, it gives Anakin more connections and bonds to others, which by removing, should place him closer to the Dark Side. By reintroducing her to the events of Revenge of the Sith, that bond should shakily be restored, and actually give something for Anakin to react and cling to, but he doesn't. This in turn makes Anakin's actions more about being selfish, rather than out of desperation and fear. He cared about Obi-Wan, even to the point where he didn't want to fight him on Mustafar. But that's well after the fact. Before Kenobi leaves for Utapau, he specifically goes out of his way to try and rebuild damage to their strained relationship of late by apologizing. The fact that Ahsoka is back in his life behooves a likewise interaction or even a reaction on his part that is in line with his characterization. But it doesn't. It's the same corner they wrote themselves into by giving him a Padawan (which they had to resolve by having her leave the Order), as it is with bringing her back (they had to resolve that by having her off Coruscant and unable to contact him or vice versa until after Order 66 takes place). This doesn't even cover the times that Anakin came close to falling during TCW whenever Ahsoka was hurt, lost, or presumed dead. Which again, would have hastened his fall sooner than Revenge of the Sith. That's how and why she damages his character arc and development.

@@magustobias8827 Ahsoka`s effect on the universe isn`t damaging at all. Her surving order 66 is fine. Wait how is it 100? Well Ahsoka was active doing her own stuff to stop the empire. She did try to keep the jedi alive in some way though. What lack of direct involvment? Before Rebels she still helped take down imperial soldiers and helped out. Eh any Inquistor? Debatable really. Not at all, that is just you pulling that out of your ass, she was focused and not compromised at all and she still couldn`t have beaten Vader, a character that did do that and is more poorly written is Starkiller...Ahsoka is kinda like Starkiller except Ahsoka is actually a great character. Her maul and two other jedi along aren`t gonna be enough, none of them can beat Vader and Palpatine, Kanen and especially Ezra stand no chance against Vader even together, maybe Ahsoka and Maul could team up to beat Vader...but that will be tough to even happen for them to meet Vader alone and have them actually work together too. She doesn`t because it`s unrealistic and likely wouldn`t work. Not really...and with Obi-Wan that made sense too. (she didn`t have a lack of action up to that point though). Eh...maybe there is some stuff she passed onto him. Being aware of him doesn`t mean she knows where he`s at. No the fact that she exists doesn`t hinder or causes problems for what other characters do and don't do, there isn`t a lack of actions and it doesn`t hinder what other possible outcomes could be achieved or at least attempted. No it doesn`t cause problems it`s just that the new series is poorly written. She doesn`t have a detremental effect on Anakin`s arc and development. It did affect it and was another reason he fell to the dark side. Not really it could certainly be better, he is happy to be with Padme and have children, but he is still conflicted about the jedi especially after what happened to his mom and now Ahsoka has left too. She is only sorta around though as she won`t be able to interact much with him still. No he does think about and considers that and was hesitant at first to let her go to Mandalore. Except Ahsoka wasn`t even fully there, she was only helping with Mandalore, she was not going back to the jedi order. Not really, realistically Anakin does know that Ahsoka isn`t there to stay. No this doesn`t make Anakin's actions more about being selfish, rather than out of desperation and fear. It does though that is what happened. Not really and they didn`t write themselves into a corner with that. Yeah which makes sense and is good writing. No all of that would just help contextualize further why he fell the way he did in ROTS. So no she doesn`t in any way damage his character arc and development. agree to disagree then

The problem with the prequel films in some respects has to do with a flaw with some of the writing and some of the directing. Actors are only as good as the material they are given as well as the direction they are given. We know many of these actors are exceptionally talented and in the hands of different directors and when given different material,.they give incredible.performances. in addition, some moments feel like contrivances, particularly in episode 3, the notion that Padme loses the will to live because her husband turned out to be a murderer, she didn't even bother to live for her own children? That's ridiculous. Anyway, there are a lot of extra scenes in episode 3 that actually provide depth to the political situation regarding Palpatines plans and that's interesting. Personally, I did enjoy the clone wars series largely because it provided a great deal of depth to the conflict and allowed viewers to care about those involved, an emotional core which seemed to be missing from certain aspects of the prequel.films. but that's my view

I still like some things about TCW and think it can be a pretty fun cartoon but it rarely feels as complete or fulfilling as the Republic Comics or other stories from that era. The Republic stories are more interconnected in their plot threads and they pay off in a way that feeds into Revenge if the Sith instead of trying to work around it to tell mostly unrelated stories like TCW. Republic stories really feel like an extension of the Prequels while TCW feels likes a looser spinoff, and unlike Cosmo I don’t think that’s a plus.

I find it very hard to criticize the clone wars TV show if you were George Lucas fan because well, George Lucas literally created it, and was the executive producer on all six seasons(because that weird seventh season didn’t happen that’s just a figment of our imagination’s) the same people that rag on Ahsoka, saying that it’s a Filoni creation are completely wrong. It was George Lucas’s original idea to make a Anakin have a Padawan. This is going to be an odd thing for me to do but I’m gonna play defense and say Filoni is not the reason Asoka exists. Therefore, he shouldn’t be blamed for it.
@sek954
@sek954 Жыл бұрын
An EP doesn’t execute the ideas, he oversees them. George pitched ideas but did not write a single episode. He was very hands off. He checked their progress because he was paying for it but it was clear that George did not care what they did with it. He catered to the PT haters because this was just a business project. George would give them ideas and then tell them to “figure out” how to make it work or make sense (like Maul). That’s how little he cared about the story in this show. When we all know that if George is passionate about a story, he is a perfectionist, a control freak, wanting to decide every detail of how it’ll be executed and written. And well the credits don’t lie. George is not credited for writing or directing. Dave Filoni was in charge of how all creative decisions were handled (which is why Ahsoka is still alive). By season 3, George was a consultant, just coming in to offer ideas, and that explains why all of George’s strengths such as characterization and coherent plot are missing from this show.

The prequels weren’t good, but I like them anyway. They had great ideas behind them but the execution is where most of the flaws arose. It is easy to fall for the trick of TCW but once you see what it replaced an individual can see it for the true crime it is. Plus the writing for TCW is actually a mess where characters seem to forget they have the force sometimes and literally make it to where a Jedi is little more than a lightsaber.

Amazing every word you just said is wrong, TCW is peak Edit: here is my análisis of TCW’s main criticisms I understand that Anakin’s character here is a different take on how he was previously portrayed. But I think it’s for the best yes Anakin was intended to be an awkward teenager and in TCW he is more badass but I think this change works for two reasons: first we get to see the war hero side of Anakin that is kind of lacking in most of the clone wars multimedia project. Sure we get that awesome scene with ventress in Tartakovsky’s clone wars and a few moments in the republic comics but most of them are as a padawan which really doesn’t work for the context of him being a war hero with tons of propaganda (tho that montage with obi wan works really well) secondly it enhances his character and story, it enhances Anakin’s flaws and desires which eventually lead him to the dark side and portrays them better. The only reason why Anakin fell to the dark side was because he wants to protect the ones he loves and expects the same thing from them. The relationship between Padme and Anakin is also treated with more nuance showing the very messed up nature of it yet how they still love each other profoundly. Sure it takes the rout of Making Anakin more Mature but he still has the same hothead attitude that he had in legends and he is still VERY immature Now as for Ahsoka I understand the problem with her taking Anakin’s role as the immature character who grows but I think it was the right call for two reasons: first it’s executed better than Anakin in the multimedia project THAT I KNOW OF if you have any cool story with him growing do tell me and it also helps on Anakin’s character development since we can’t have padme hanging around with Anakin constantly since she is a senator and Anakin is a general so he needs another character to grow attached too and Dave filoni’s original portrayal of Ahsoka (which lasted till the end of rebels) it’s the single best character story in all of Star Wars current canon and even going up there with stories of legendary characters such as Revan from the old EU. If you want a more in depth análisis on Ahsoka watch: how Dave filoni fixed Ahsoka in 5 episodes. As for Kenobi I much prefer his canon counterpart than the multimedia project counterpart, I think that obi wan in the multimedia project is too… un-Jedi like. Which I get it it’s part of the whole tragedy of the Jedi order but he feels too strict and narrow minded more like a soldier. I feel like TCW hits that balance between Jedi knight and soldier better: Obi Wan is still a general who commands a good portion of the republic army (one full system army) and is very serious when it comes to battles but also has that benevolent and loving (not romantically ofc) side that any Jedi should have plus his charming attitude from the prequels which was kind of absent in what I’ve seen of the multimedia project Ok now the Clones I believe that the clones are a million times better post TCW. Sure the stoic and robotic nature fits the alpha Arcs since they were basically unaltered clones of jango but the regular clones and even the commandos had a lot of influence by the Jedi, which by human nature means that they grow as people. As much as you try it you can’t suppress the human individuality which where the 2008 portrayal shines they feel more like people and also show how the kaminoans were not able to delete something as important as individuality hence why the inhibitor chip exists, if the kaminoans knew this they needed to find an alternative so the clones would execute order 66 hence the chips and while MANY clones would’ve executed to order without the chip like bacara and his marines, Neyo, Faei, Jag etc they needed the chips for the likes of clones like Bly Rex and even Cody to a lesser degree clones that had a good relationship with the Jedi. Now Dooku I have not much to say honestly I’d say his character gets elevated because of Tales of the Jedi but his EU counter part is very good too. Maul was SAVED by TCW what was before a looks cool does nothing character got turned into a tragic character and I don’t understand the critic of Maul’s plan for the siege of mandalore. He clearly knew his plan wasn’t very reliable as it depended on the fact that the Jedi would want to capture him which wasn’t guaranteed and he knew that he was putting all of his hope in that Anakin and Obi Wan would show up which didn’t happen and you can feel his desperation in the scenes he’s in as he knows what is about to happen. The only character I admit got done SO DIRTY in TCW was grievous and I don’t think I need to explain why, tartakovsky’s portrayal was perfect then George Lucas fucked it up and he and filoni fucked him up for a second time. There’s my análisis
