Awesome tutorial! I love that you used cheap, accessible materials. So many cosplay tutorials I see out there use highly expensive (or even dangerous!) materials. Just needing to wear a face mask with this foam is perfectly fine and not a hard thing to do! Thank you for this tutorial! Your cosplay looks great btw :D

This was fascinating! Iit was really cool to see how it was made. I took a 3D class in college but was totally terrible at everything but seeing you create the staff makes it seem a lot simpler than anything I did in school. Also, your camera is so nice. I love the detail you are able to get with it. The shot at around the 4:05 mark was really cool with the small section of natural light and the stripes of your shirt.

I used this tutorial for help with my own staff, thank you for making it easy to understand! One thing I wasn't aware of (but am very aware of now) is how insulation foam will melt with spray paint. I didn't realize that was the reason why for using wood glue on everything until mine melted. Lesson learned, lol! I appreciate this video so much, thank you!

It's not really just talent but more discipline, hard work, and determination. Cosplay creation can be very discouraging because of all the creative anime weapons/items but I'm glad there are people who want to make things work like this. Love seeing characters come to life!

I know it isn't the same as spackling walls but you might want to sand after your spackle. The fine dust you make sanding the foam can cause the spackle not to bond.

Oh gosh. Anime North this year was absolutely AWFUL for heat. I was in a cosplay for less then an hour, ripped off my wig and said "I QUIT!" Absolutely love your Pluto cosplay :)

I didn't make the sailor outfit myself, it was originally a Mars cosplay that my friend made and I modified it to b become Jupiter and Pluto! (detachable sailor collars and skirts). There are lots of tutorials online though :)

How did you attach the foam staff head to the dowel before you covered them in worbla? Did you use some kind of glue? You didn't mention it in the video and I would imagine that not using anything could weaken the structural integrity.

You might also want to look into expanding foam! If you make a base shape out of poster board, you can spray the foam in the shape that you want and carve it after! It's a bit easier than carving/layering boards of pink foam :)
