I've been working on bridal alterations industry for over three years and the average amount a bride spends on basic alterations are $550 dollars. Many will be easily up to $750. If you add customizations, such long sleeves for example will reach $1,000 easily. The more volume and length you have on your gown skirt the more costly will be the alterations job. Sorry that hanger loop under the train is to hang the train on the hanger. Not to put on your wrist at the reception. -bridal alteration specialist

I want brides who cannot afford a bustle to know that wearing their hanger loop on their wrist (like they did before bustles were a thing) is totally up to them. It is always more convenient and "photo ready" to have a bustle sewn in by a seamstress. I support the bride's decision and want you to know not everyone will agree with your decision to wear the loop on your wrist.
