It happens to me ooo, 16mm rod they bought for me wasn't complete, imagine, is not fair,i bought mine in lagos for 530k, they said it's comes in 52 pieces

If you bought one ton of 16mm, it should be 53 pieces. That means they sold it at approx. 10K each.

Thanks for sharing. Few questions: is there a tolerance to the iron rod diameter specification? For instance, the 2X4 lumber in the US - is not actually this size when measured. Is there an industry standard chart for these rods? Also, are these high tensile strength rods for the 14mm & 16mm?

Yes, there's a specific tolerant for each diameter of rod. Your civil engineer or contractor will recommend which one to use depending on the type of building and which part of the building the casting is taking place.

It means it does not measure up to the stated diameter. For instance for 16mm, when you measure it with the callipers, it should be 16mm in diameter but in the market there are some that measure say 13mm yet they call it 16mm. If you use that one to build where 16mm is required, the structure of the building will be compromised and such can lead to the collapse of buildings.

There are variations with some items. For instance in Onitsha, their source of sand is River Niger so the price is different. Cement, rod and wood may be the same or very slight variations in price.
