They are always very good at evading important questions. Some years back, to own a house was considered luxury, now owning a car is one. I for one has been badly affected by all these and at this point, I'm more interested in a solution. What is the way forward? Do we just keep suffering? How do we the lower class cope with all of these? How do we get past this phase?

Practical approach; Reduce things that get you sick (that way, you increase productivity and reduce spending on health), Spend only on necessities, Try to invest what you can and spread them locally and internationally but of course be well informed about where you want to put your money and finally, vote wisely. Made my first million this way earlier this year (got help though). Can comfortably wait out this "phase".

If representatives get a $120,000++ pension for life when they leave politics, which is NOT means tested, then DSP (and the aged pension) should be lifted to a minimum living wage, and not means tested either. The people who need the most help are not getting it, in fact that are being targeted by the the people at the top who are in charge of setting all the policies, which, oddly enough, always favors themselves and corporations and not the peoples best interests or needs. A friend of mine who retired a couple of years ago from Centrelink management, told me that one of the main mandates from the people above him (Fed govt) is to remove as many people from DSP, etc... as possible, which includes making life as hard as possible for them through unfair policies, harassment and scare tactics. Some people are being removed from DSP or denied becasue they cant afford the thousands of $$$$$ it takes to obtain specialists reports that Centrelink now require to maintain or qualify for DSP, specialists that are not covered by Medicare, they have made it incredibly hard for people in need to actually get the help they require. They are pushing Aus in the same direction as the US, and we can all see how well thats worked out for them...

Then listen to that broken record that they are the worst economic/financial managers.. Big boys of town back the conservative side because that’s how they get/stay stinking rich 🤑. Manipulation from media,banks(seems RBA also),mining magnates etc Middle to working class don’t have a chance. They are getting wealthier while they are setting the rest of us for a fall.(recent rope a dope in housing anyone) Next phase will be mass immigration to rein in the colossal debt that’s been deliberately made. Controlled immigration (200k or less infrastructure depending) isn’t a bad thing but open those flood gates (500k+ has been talk of 2mil for Sydney)and everybody drowns but the fat cats.. no they will make more money and power than ever. We just talk and talk and talk in this country, we are still waiting for a political mesia and it's not Morrison, and it never was. Australia has never had a benevolent leader since Gough Whitlam. Gough had intuition to point out what causes social decline. My observation of Australia social decline in the past 35 years has been due to high divorce rates in Australia. What happens after divorce? It doesn't take much to work it out, a dysfunctional society of social decline, what are the repercussions? A pandemic of homeless mothers, there children disconnect of social interaction, due to no money, meaning no hope, meaning teenagers turning to crime. The economic fallout is astronomical on the Australian tax payers. What is the solution to this social decline? It's called an economic reset, deregulation of the dollar and to implement lower costs of utilities for all Australians. To do this means to bring in more skilled workers to allow Australia to manufacture and to be self sufficient, not to rely on other nations. This in turn will create prosperity in the long term to ensure more in a social net funding to catch our children from falling into the abyss of a no hope future. Australia is highly under resourced, I think also the cost of living in the past 35 is causing partners not to have children today. Our population is in decline and is becoming much older.
@raylouis7013
@raylouis7013 2 жыл бұрын
I think you are making a connection that isn't there. the divorce rate is increasing because the economy has now been set up so that you NEED at least 2 full-time wages to just survive. Which puts enormous stresses on relationships. They have been bringing in skilled migrants for DECADES while cutting training here. Why not train people here?

I wouldn’t know, I’m on a disability pension, I got a $750 one off payment which was fantastic BUT if costs have gone up why are job seekers eligible for MORE than people legitimately unable to work at all?? Job seekers can ALWAYS find something, even if it’s delivering pamphlets it’s still an extra income. I get $810 per fortnight, my rent is $740 per fortnight. I am left $70 per fortnight. I’m on 7 different medications, even with the helpful PBS schedule I’m paying $47.60 per fortnight, leaving me with $22.40 per fortnight. That’s only $44.80 A MONTH to cover all my utilities, doctors fees, fuel, food & clothing requirements. It’s disgusting & disrespectful.

The BIGGEST cost of living is MORTGAGE AND RENT. Followed by food and fuel, electric, water and gas etc. This nonsense of inflation at 3.5% without adding mortgage and rent is madness. These are going up 10-15% per year. Politicians choose not to look at this, why, cos they all own 5-30+ properties each. These is no way in hell they will allow the property market to come down. Housing affordability needs to be addressed and not thrown more money at 1st home buyer schemes and incentives etc is only going to push prices up further. Australia needs a property price correction with a drop of 50%. This clown show from both sides of politics for the past 40 years need to be shown the door. Time for a change and real action. People do not want more hours in work. Majority of Australians are already doing 50-70hrs per week. We want less hrs but more pay. You cant have everyone on welfare getting increases in payments that would effect the politicians 9-10% pay rises 2 times per year. No way they will never allow that. It's also our fault despite of our situation when we are only providing for our self but because of our selfless desire to bring another human being to be part of that journey then we look for another way to blame. That's how it is. It is our fault. If you can't able to provide for yourself then why have more responsibility? If rich people wants a lot of children then let them be. The cycle will only repeat to them, no more vulnerable human being like me or Madam Bridget's family. Let just open our eyes. If you love your unborn child(ren) don't let them be part of this society, it's okay to be selfish rather than being a vulnerable human being all over again. If the child care fund will blind most of us to have another vulnerable human being then it's your choice. I was in my highschool experiencing inflation. That time I already realize how hard it is. Now I'm turning 33 years old, inflation still happening all the time. I'm happy that I was not dragging any vulnerable human being to be part of this society. I have no job both of my partner and this is what I was always putting in my brain the "what if?". 🥺 I just wish babies have a choice if they want to be born or they don't grow up just like us to know the reality of the society. There is nothing wrong of the Earth only us. 🤷 🙏🕊️❤️

Capitalism is not working….for you mates and for us in America. I’m curious if anyone has seen Zeitgeist and Zeitgeist Addendum docs…a sharing economy?.? If you have lived long enough then you know change is a process…sometimes it can be a very long process. We need to start now and demand change! God bless everyone struggling! God bless Ukraine 🇺🇦 ❤️🌎✌🏼

How does the lady with the 16 yr old son who seems like she’ll be in her 50’s have nothing to show for herself? I moved to AUS in 2009, in “unskilled” work, eventually got a trade, continued to upskill myself and now with 4 children just brought a home in what many say is the worse market for first home buyers.. Despite being “disabled” doesn’t render you useless

Many people won't hire someone with a disability - no matter how competent they are, how well trained they are.

You don’t know what her disability entails. There’s lots of invisible illnesses, where you look fine to the outside world.

Here is a real world example, a lady in her 50s migrated from Malaysia to Australia and set about getting qualifications in order to find a job. She attended TAFE and after two years had the qualifications she needed. She couldn't find employment so started volunteering in the sector she wanted to work in to get experience. Unfortunately she had a recurring physical injury that while it didn't prevent her from working, was seen by employers as a good reason not to employ her. She was told, to her face, in a job interview that she would NEVER be employed and despite continuing to volunteer and look for work, she never has been employed. She is now resigned to just volunteering as it has become obvious that she isn't going to get work. She is now 63 and no one will even look at her for employment. Being older and looking for work in Australia is a real problem.

You don't really know her back story. My own mother was abused by father as soon as she came here. She wasn't allowed to work, or to study, or even have a car - because that's how abusive relationships work. What she received in the divorce was a house, and that was the only asset we managed to retain. She's also disabled (physical health issues), and no one wants to hire someone in their 60s, because age discrimination exists. Not everyone's story is as black and white as you would love to believe.
