As someone who has lived in Chiang Mai for 5 years I can say there are many cheaper options if you want to be within 20mins of the city. I pay 10k ($275US) for a 3 bed house and I bought my motorbike second hand for 13k ($360US) after my 1st year as I got fed up with songthaews (red taxi trucks) and grab fares. If you are planning on living here long term buy a motorbike rather than spend 2-3k per month, I got my return on the bike after 6 months and even with repairs and servicing it's still great value (btw here labor for repairs is very cheap example: replacing oil and failed tail light, $12US) If you don't drink, smoke and party you can get by quite nicely on about $750US per month, not including visas and any associated costs.

@@Rudy1150 thanks for the question. I bought it from Facebook, I don't know much about bikes (I bought a scooter Honda click) so I took a chance, had a quick test ride and bought it. Most bikes are cheap and reliable and if you take reasonable care of them should not cost you more than around $50 a year to keep them in good shape

You seem very postive and happy with your decision to move to Chiang Mai. I've been living in Banglok a year and did visit chain mail it's a nice escape however I think the air is very bad at the start of the year, which I wouldn't like as I like to run outside. Did you visit any of the mountain areas? They are very nice, I enjoyed going to the temples and villages on a scooter.

How long do you plan to stay in Chiang Mai? You work as a digital nomad marketing strategist and outsource business consulting for online channels as a self-employed. You look gorgeous and charismatic woman. What are you doing in mainland China 🇨🇳? You are a kind of self-organizing in financial provision and smart allocation budgeting. You can easily manage multi-tasking skills at once by focusing on one task while keeping track of others spontaneously. Awesome commendable to gender equality.
