Lifer from the queen city here, but I think you might be missing a few major drawbacks of this city.... it is grey, overcast days nearly 6 months out of the year, so if you have seasonal affect, you might want to reconsider. Not to mention, this area is highly conservative and often 15 years behind the times in many neighborhoods when it comes to certain trains of thought. Don't even think about not owning a car because TANK is the only other way you're getting around. Much like the rest of the country, prices of housing are rising rapidly. You can't buy a house for a $150k anymore unless you're okay with a double wide. Otherwise, you mention a lot of admirable things about the 'Nati!

@David Carr I have done research on it my entire life.... I have lived here my entire life. Well 97% of my life anyways. I have lived in KY a few years also. And cost of living is low here. However so is wages man.housing particular is so cheap in the city because Cincinnati is over built. Since 1950 Cincinnati has lost 40%-50% of it's population!!! So even with low wages, housing is affordable. On everything else tho it's the same. A wigit for $1 and a wage of $10 is no different then a wigit costing $2 and a wage of $20...

Low cost of living? Are you gonna buy a home on westside and send your kids to pre-correctional institute high schools? You buy a $300k home, expect to pay $7000+ on property taxes. With you purchasing a $350k home in Cincinnati, your mortgage would be around $1700 a month, if you happen to same amount meaning $1700 a month, on a mortgage, you could get a $450k home in Indy, Pittsburgh, Phoenix. The city is really divided from East and the west. My conclusion is that property taxes in Cincinnati is killing the city and that is one of the reason to move away from the City, and the state.

@@TeamSztanyo Yeah its totally weird. "City Of" Cincinnati is only like 250K population, but the "greater metro area" can be like 2.5 million depending on what you count. US census bureau even has Census designation that lumps Cincinnati and Dayton together, which would make it even larger. Contrast to "City Of" Columbus, Ohio (800K pop) or Indianapolis (closer to a million population), Once you get out of those cities, your largely in "farmland". The economic output of the area is on par or higher sometimes compared to larger "cities". Especially if you include it being a major transport hub (River/Rail/I-75, I-71 corridors). Cincy suffered from the great suburban sprawl (due to alot of factors, including just plain geography. So, it seems "bigger" than the city really is.

Hi Fatima, thank you! There are many wonderful neighborhoods in Cincinnati, including Blue Ash. It all depends on what you mean by "best" and what is most important to you. You could find a 2 bedroom apartment anywhere from $700 - $1,100 or so a month, just depending on where you want to live and the amenities.
