Great video Ollie :) ❤️ and also so interesting, because you show that live on Santa Cruz it’s not so expensive and people learn more about this beautiful South American city ☺️ I’ll gonna miss your videos about Bolivia 🇧🇴 🥲

I lived in Bolivia for five years, 2.5 in Santa Cruz and 2.5 in Cochabamba. This is pretty accurate. Only thing I would add is that the cost of buying a vehicle is probably three times as much as in the US or Europe.

That 100k will last you more than 10 years if you don't buy a property. However, you can make between 500 and 1k a month teaching.

How strong is the internet connection? Would it work for a digital nomad?

It is good inside the city, if you go out to explore outside the city in the tourist places you will have some areas along the way that you will lose connection, but once you reach the place you want to visit you will have a signal again.

Hola, new KZbin friend! :) The video was definitely insightful and I love Numbeo too - but I love NomadList a bit more. It just looks better! If you're currently in Bolivia, you may even wanna showcase things in real life. That would make such a video 10x more interesting.

Hey William. Thanks for the comment. I lived in Bolivia and was never robbed, nor did I feel like someone was going to rob me. Except this one time in Sucre, but I quickly went into a pharmacy to avoid that. Are you from Australia? I def recommend you visit Bolivia. It's a very interesting place with nice people.

Hey, i too lived in Santa Cruz for a year, and can tell you that Bolivia is mostly save. Sure dont walk alone trough the streets of el Alto, Oruro or poorer parts of Santa Cruz at night, but when you compare it to other countries of south america tourist safety is very good. When you are in a big local, not touristie market or at the terminal de buses watch your pockets (thiefes are rare, but exist). armed robberies dont happen. When there is a political situation it comes to "bloqueos" (some farmers/workers/general protesters block the streets from a city or to a city) but thoes are anounced in papers and basically some guy at your hotel is gonna know about them, and if you fear you are locked in a city dont worry. Most of those protests last one day, and the airport is always open (depends on your budget)

How is the Wifi internet year round? I mean is it pretty stable? I wouldnt mind moving to Sta. Cruz but my work is strictly from home so I would need to ensure internet is reliable. I miss Sta Cruz!

@storatus 3 жыл бұрын
Tigo is the best. It‘s very stable, there are rarely problems. There are a lot of people working from home now, including me. Right now apartments and rooms are very cheap to rent beacause of the pandemic (probably 30% below former prices) however this will change very soon, santa cruz is growing like crazy and not like the rest of Bolivia.

boilivians consume coca leaves which have a different effect. Cocaina i hard to get as it gets transfered to the us and people couldnt afford it anyway. People who consume drugs mostly sniff glue and that sort of shit. And also a small drug offense starts you of at 15 years in jail.
