50 things i would hate about living in Dumb-agetti: brownouts, poverty, litter, oppressive heat & sweltering humidity, typhoons, long rainy season, beggars, Malaria, mosquitoes, stray dogs (rabies) roosters crowing, loud scooters, traffic jams, no driving rules, no traffic lights, no street lights, bad sidewalks, poor restaurant service, don't have change, "out of stock", difficulty parking, fake cheese, fake honey, corrupt & complicated visa process, no speedy ambulance service, bad healthcare, hospitals demanding cash before treating you, bribing cops, extortion to get out of jail, disadvantage in legal disputes vs locals, conman expats, Filipina scammers, poor water quality, lazy landlords who keep your deposit, cant own land, skin tax, lack of gratitude if you are generous cuz expats are viewed as wealthy, hard to find a good steak, banking issues, slow post office, prying neighbors, 2:00 AM full-blast karaoke, long waiting in lines at stores, bad air quality pollution, black soot dust from burning trash & outdoor cooking, Pinay constantly staring at their phones, suspicious jealousy, tampo, chismus, no building code regulations, neverending construction, no regular trash pickup & people stealing your trash can, ESL so difficult to have a deep communication, can't understand the Tagalog spoken at gatherings & finally, you need an exit clearance with a background check to even leave the 7k islands!

Trying to start a business and invest money is the best way to lose all of your money. You cannot make money here. Just go with that and you'll be good. Don't let anyone talk you into it. The only thing that is OK to buy is a condo, a scooter or car and food that's it. No land no house no business none of that.

Retiring in the Philippines can be a rewarding experience, but it’s important to recognize that this lifestyle choice may not suit everyone. It requires a willingness to embrace new cultures and perspectives, as well as an open-minded attitude toward various aspects of daily life in a developing country. Potential retirees should be prepared for differences in infrastructure, healthcare, and local customs, which may contrast significantly with what they are accustomed to in their home countries. Understanding the local way of life, including social norms and communication styles, is essential for adapting successfully and enjoying this vibrant environment.

For those that think it’s getting more expensive to live in the Philippines try going back to the United States and living you’ll be on the streets you can easily live over here on $1500 a month 2000 max that’s over 100,000 pesos a month if you can’t live on 100,000 pesos a month then you don’t have a money problem. You have a spending problem.

@@jamesrecknor6752 it doesn’t cost that much to live over here in the Philippines unless you’re just used to living high on the hog and having the best of the best but you could easily live on a couple thousand dollars a month over here most foreigners do I mean literally I’ve lived here for years and I talk to foreigners on a regular basis. To me money is not the biggest cost of living in the RP. It's peace and quiet, dealing with traffic, and medical needs. Plus is young women and no winter. I have spent 15 months there over 20 years but never lived there. Don't forget China I don't think the US will stand with RP for the next 4 years. But it has many charms I am quite comfortable in the USA but I still think about RP or Thailand who knows I might make the jump.

@@nevergiveup-db6fpIn fact, mosquitoes can fly up to the 20th floor, and even on the 10th floor, you can still hear dogs and roosters crowing. In fact, mosquitoes can fly up to the 20th floor, and even on the 10th floor, you can still hear dogs and roosters crowing. Unless you have windows or glass doors that keep out noise and keep out insects, there will always be bird poop outside. If we don't open it often

Well, Filipino mosquitoes are scared of heights and the wind blows them away There are no dogs and chickens. If your condo faces the ocean may be a random seagull might fly in your window but that’s OK.
