Awesome video. Thank you for breaking it down so clearly. I drove for Schneider and looked into the SFI but backed out at the last minute. Instead I just put a down payment on a used truck with 417k miles that was owned by a large fleet carrier. I know it's still a gamble but a risk that I'm more comfortable with. I fly out to GA tomorrow to pick it up. I definitely take your lessons on how to manage trucking business to heart. Keep up the great work!

No, I’m using ATBS now.

The way I’d break it down would be truck cost + self pay. Self pay would be a CPM comparable to LTL company drivers which is .65-.80cpm
@stretchingmileswithstretch7227 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, what & how you pay yourself is typically just a preference. I know some drivers that don’t have much for personal expenses and they just dump a lot back into the business. They live what I like to call a “semi” retired lifestyle. Thank you for watching

I utilized the Affordable Care Act. It definitely helps people who are self employed or those who don’t have employer provided coverage

Got approved by sfi and jb hunt, now just waiting on the truck. I know am coming into this in a bad market but I think I can manage . 🤞
@stretchingmileswithstretch7227 Жыл бұрын
JB has ALOT of contract freight everywhere and that’s what you’ll need in this market. I almost went there before I came to the big blue star. The hazmat freight over here is the main reason I came over here. JB has the most freight and they get really good discounts too. I think you made a good decision. Good luck and thank you for watching

Hello brother can u advice me what shall I choose. Petterbill or frightliner kenworth thank u for sharing ur information
@stretchingmileswithstretch7227 Жыл бұрын
My opinion, Freightliner is the most efficient truck to run. Peterbilt and Kenworth, in my opinion, are a more comfortable truck & they ride better. Freightliner will help keep a little more money in your pocket but beat you to death while doing it( Freightshaker ).

One honest question, how much does a person typically have to put down to get in an SFI truck (down payment)total cost?
@stretchingmileswithstretch7227 Жыл бұрын
Their deposit has no consistency. Everyone I know has paid something different. They base it on the individual, the current market, and where that individual plans on taking it. You can contact my agent and she can possibly give you a better idea, her info is in the description on most of my videos. Thank you for watching

.41 cpm is that loaded and empty miles or just loaded?
@stretchingmileswithstretch7227 Жыл бұрын
Your cost per mile should always be all miles, empty & loaded. It cost every mile that truck moves. .41cpm was just an example also, everyone is going to have a different number. Hope that helps and thank you for watching
