COSTA RICA - 18yrs old traveling alone

This is the story of an 18yrs old student's first ever solo travel trip to Costa Rica for a week. I spontaneously decided to embark on this journey one week prior to school starting because I was dying to start traveling the world. And I am serious when I said that I booked the tickets the night before the flight haha (am i crazy or crazy). I learned a lot both about myself as well as about Costa Rica. I also started to discover the beauties of solo traveling, but also their drawbacks. Despite what the film shows, I actually did do a lot of research before my trip; it was just done in a very short amount of time :') Also, the video does not show this, but as soon as my mom and friend dropped me off to the airport, I finally realized the magnitude of my decision haha. After my first day though, it started feeling like second nature, and I was no longer worrying about myself, but about how I could make the most of my trip. I learned a lot in terms of traveling Costa Rica, but also beginner solo traveling tips. The video was already getting very long, so I cut out a lot about my actual reflections and thoughts; if people want, I would love to make seperate videos about these topics.

My parents definitely helped me out a lot ever since I was young. But there is also the importance of working side jobs as a student and saving at a young age. And of course, it is important to budget your trip, buying cheap local food and sleeping in budget hostels.
