Just a simple way I tried is to boil briefly in water with plenty of seasoning, but NO salt. The water leaches out the excess salt and the herbs and spice add nice flavor. Actually I boil the seasoned water then add crab and let it poach basically.

I am right with you on this subject, the only time I would add other flavors is with something like snow crab which is nearly flavorless in comparison to the king crab.

*Looks really good but if I'm spending $220 for a box of king crab I will definitely be using real butter not margarine (Country Crock)...*
@TheRedduck15 жыл бұрын
It's actually really good with Country Crock, I'll definitely try it with real butter next time. Thanks for your comment.
@kellyr955 жыл бұрын
*I wouldn't doubt king crab is still really good with margarine. The times I have had it in restaurants or at home I have always had real butter but if a box of king crab drops out of the sky I'll give margarine a try.*

@@TheRedduck1 Very nice and beautiful house that you got. Hey, do a outdoor BBQ video so people can see your beautiful yard too. Make sure is not empty and to have flowers tho :)

@@I-Told-U-So Thinking about doing a Korean bbq video on the back patio next. Will show backyard, but it's winter time now so might not be too many flowers. In the spring and summer, you'll be able to see all of my Lantanas in bloom with all their beautiful colors. Thank you for the GREAT idea for the next video. Thank you!!!

@@TheRedduck1 You are very welcome. Ok, we settle for some grass, artificial flowers :). To enjoy the outdoors in the winter like I do? Perhaps get one those upright patio propane heater. You can enjoy outdoor daily... Make sure put it in the middle of the yard and away from the trees, most of all, away from your beautiful house for safety reason. Welcome again.. P.S. Oh ya, I had tried many times Korean BBQ that grilled on the table... Tasty and Yummy!!! 2 thumbs up for Korean BBQ...

Why precook the mussels? Wouldn't the juice released when the raw mussel pops open further flavor your broth? Looks delicious but just thinking out loud to improve even more.
@TheRedduck14 жыл бұрын
The mussels that I used were already precooked and frozen. I've made this recipe with fresh mussels before and you're right, they make the broth taste much better. My goal for this video and recipe is to have a simple and quick way to make crab legs that taste like you've been boiling them all day but really have only spent about 30 minutes doing it. It's super easy to replicate and blows your taste buds away. Thank you so much for commenting!!! Happy feast!!!
