So glad you are managing despite the weather and shortages. Also glad you have power and gas pumps work. This time of year, i keep full to 3/4 in case we can't buy. I also switch up to 89 octane to keep moisture out of tank. I was told both reduce risks of expensive repairs or getting stranded with water mixing in tank. We had 90km winds today with ice and snow. Temperature rose to -2. Stay warm and safe.

I have been chewing my nails and grinding my teeth, I am dipping below half a tank in the car, was going to get fuel today, but will get it tomorrow, since we are going out. Then I will put the HEET in there. Strange, my car was kind of acting up when the temps dropped a month ago, but it's doing okay now. Be safe and you stay warm also. 💖

Now today it was only 21,tomorrow is 17.Went to my youngest daughters,daughter's, and as soon as I pulled into her driveway my car battery died! Your temperature is live where I live in northern Minnesota! Cold, cold and more cold but we are use to it and actually it keeps us moving. Our nearest Costco is one hour and fifteen minutes south east of us in Duluth MN. Live our Costco hauls too!

Just a US/UK translation thing - a lot of the KZbinrs I follow seem to regularly buy paper plates. Here we only really buy little packs for birthday parties etc because they’re character-themed or whatever. Do people really use them regularly instead of just washing up their actual crockery? Not judging, I’m just curious because it’s so different to what we do here!! 💕💕

Most of the KZbinrs I watch have a lot of children, it is much more convenient when you have kids grabbing snack all of the time. I had 5 so we did get used to using paper plates, I broke the habit and now I am back and forth with it. I actually have a Hutch I will be putting in my dining room to make all of the dining ware easier to access, I am hoping that will keep us from using so much paper products I hate the waste.

I onli use kitchen towels as decoration so would prefer a picture especially as we have wave ones!!! We are looking at getting a picture or painting one!!! Our greenies are called denta sticks!!! I don’t understand bad behaviour in supermarkets, it annoys me when ppl start on me in the supermarket for no reason!!! We use plastic plates and bowls when we can’t be bothered to wash up. Fred Meyer looks empty!!! When I started the Daniel plan and I learnt what’s in some foods I was shocked!!! We find healthy foods cheaply!!! I have loyalty apps on my phone

We have several towels in the kitchen that are just there for decoration. I think Costco calls them Denta Sticks, Greenies is actually a brand name. After all that we have been through with Covid, it really irks me when someone invades my space. I will have to look up that Daniel plan. Our Safeway Supermarket app actually has a program built into the app that teaches you how to eat healthy.

The same bacon was $21.99 last time I was there, it's funny how the prices fluctuate. I bet you are near the coast, it seems the coastlines get hit hard with higher prices and big cities, I didn't have sticker shock when I moved here, Detroit was pretty high, living costs.

Actually I live in the center of the state 2 hours from the coast and 2hours from the mountains . I was born in Fairbanks in 1975. My dad was in the military so we weren't there that long . Yes! Thank you! Heather was supposed to receive "hazard pay", never got it, never got her annual raise, no nothing, she worked the whole time. They started hiring new people at 1 and a half times her pay, the employees that had been there all along were livid, so they had to raise everyone's pay to the new hiring rate.

Hello from Alaska and thank you for joining us and our Bear Family. Good question, I really hate waste, we recycled everything when I lived in Michigan, but everyone here is working, the dishes pile up so fast that we can't keep up, also, my microwave is too small for my regular plates, the paper plates and bowls are just easy. I was down to one kitchen trash bag of trash a week, now we are back up to 3 or 4 and it makes me sad.

It's not really the case that most Americans use paper plates, except for things like picnics and parties.

Make friends with some one that can shop at the commissary supply isn't as much of an issue.

@@AlaskanBearsVlogs Eielson AFB is now a remote location all government employees that can get on to Base can shop there. Plenty of retirees in the area as well.

Alaska Bears; AM sooo glad your storm is over, but just last Monday, Jan 3rd, we had a snow here (Eastern Tennessee, Maryville, Tennessee), of abt 4 inches, that even covered my car, but by Tuesday it melted, and the roads were in good condition. And it is forecasted for Snow tomorrow, for abt 24 hrs. But, I'll put this info into perspective. People here have this H U G E. FEAR, into super stressed, anxiety, and what they fears also known as a bad word: S N O W !!! IT doesn’t Snow very often, but is for tomorrow they also forecasted cold temperatures down into the 20s, and colder into the teens, maybe even single numbers. People here think this is C O L D, FRIDGID. C O L D !!!!! Most likely every body will just hunker down while it is cold. Since I've lived in various parts of Alaska, this weather is no big deal. Kinda funny,

Oh my gosh Carol, I know, it's so funny to hear towns completely shut down for a quarter inch of snow. The weather is so weird. My Sister that just moved to Nashville posted pics of the snow, it was 70 degrees earlier that day. If you talk about snow here from April to September, you have to say "the s word" people get mad if you say snow, HAHAHA.
