Saw the Centr1 for $450, but watching your reviews it seems the extra money is a big jump + better investment
@EricB0310 ай бұрын
@@mars009 for $450 is a good deal and would have said it was a good buy at that price point but when I did the Centr 1 video it was at $899. Personally I would get the FTX for the 2 stacks. I am biased from using it and it is more versatile with the 2 stacks. Ultimately it comes down to what programming and weights you want to push with the unit. They are both basically the same size. Not trying to sway you either way just giving you my honest opinion.

are you able to combine stacks with an adapter with this unit? to use a single hole lat bar for example
@EricB036 ай бұрын
It won’t work like that and needs the double bar for lat pulldowns. You can use the one stack with a smaller bar and gympin but won’t get heavy enough. I find the long bar with both stacks good enough but not a dedicated lat pulldown for sure.
@DonaldKHowatt6 ай бұрын
@@EricB03 ok, i was wanting to use a Double D, and a short lat bar, I don’t think a single stack has enough weight for those movements.
@EricB036 ай бұрын
@@DonaldKHowatt yes it won’t be enough if you want a true lat pull down. Even with the single stack, bar and gym pin it would only be around 120lbs max and kind of awkward. I never got it for that but it does work. I tend to do a lot of weighted pull ups.

Just set mine up. It's very nice. What are your thoughts on using just one side of it for some things? Does it mess anything up

I do it all the time. One side for curls and then setup the other side for Tricep push downs. Enjoy it as it is pretty awesome.

My biggest concern is space. I'm extremely limited and the machine will sit next to my car in my garage. I have absolutely no more than 52" width next to my mini-van, and 96" long to work with. Do you believe there is enough space for all functions of this unit in such a tight space? I currently have a Total Gym Fit in that space. It works GREAT, but I rather have the look of this type of machine or a digital weight set like the Speediance Gym Monster; though I'm not seeing the benefit of the Gym Monster based on the Facebook user group concerns of no ability to track and adjust as a digital machine should.
@EricB039 ай бұрын
With space being a concern I would probably not get it. You can do a lot with good adjustable DB’s, and nice incline bench, pull up bar and dip station. Just my 2 cents.
@wayc462810 ай бұрын
The description says 2 165 lb weight stacks. Is that not accurate? Thanks for the videos. Mine is on the way.
@EricB0310 ай бұрын
Yes each side is 165 lbs or 330 total. 1/2 those values as they are 2:1 ratio. That includes the selector as well. With the 2:1, if you had both at the bottom and did lat pulldown as example it would be 165 lbs. if you had one side at 90 lbs and did Tricep push downs it with one side would be 45 lbs. hope that makes sense. I got the dual hook straight bar on Costco for $40 which is way better for pulldowns. It is in the Costco next section fyi. Thanks for the comment and you are going to really enjoy it.

@EricB0310 ай бұрын
@@wayc4628 perfect and glad I was able to get the response you needed
@EricB0310 ай бұрын
@@user-nz2kl2fd4p it would be 165 lbs since it is a 2 to 1 ratio. Each side would have 165 which equals 330 but then with the 2 to 1 you need to 1/2 that number so 165. Without any additional weight via a gym pin of course. Hope that makes sense.

The bench isn’t great. I like sitting on it for low rows. The gym pin is a necessity for low rows. I have the Surplus Strength UPS on my rack for lat pull downs. I didn’t like using the FTX for lat pulldowns
@EricB0310 ай бұрын
Yes I said the bench is low in another video and never use it. I got the straight bar which is much better for pulldowns but being on the floor definitely sucks. Outside of that I really love it. But to be fair if I wanted a lat pulldown I would have bought one vs a functional trainer.

Based on your past research, do you happen to know how often do these sales usually take place? Also, is this really the same as the Inspire FTX or did they change anything as part of the re-brand (i.e. lower quality components, not the same sturdy construction, etc.?) I see the Inspire version listed on FB marketplace for around $1K+. Although I would like to save a couple bucks, buying new provides the lifetime warranty, unless used will also carry the same opportunity? Either way, this looks like my next purchase. Thanks!
@EricB039 ай бұрын

I have been wanting to pull the trigger and get this. How smooth is the pulley system? I was thinking of getting the Rep Fitness arcadia as everyone raves about how smooth the pulley is. I wanted to get your opinion about the smoothness. Do you have to put any oil on it or some sort of grease? Thanks for the video. Very informative.
@EricB0310 ай бұрын
They provided you with some oil or you can do the silicone spray if you wanted. No issues at all and very smooth. I don’t think you can go wrong either way. Get the one you like the best. I personally buy USA before anything which for me has left Rep out. They do however make good stuff.
@snakethejake947410 ай бұрын
@@EricB03 Based on your videos. I end up getting the Centr 2 instead of Rep Fitness. You are right, very smooth. I actually replaced Centr pulley wheels with aluminum wheels. I think there is a total of 18. It feels much smoother. I read that aluminum wheels will be more durable in the long run. Not sure if its an overkill. Thanks again for the recommendation.
