Love these price comparison videos. I live in Australia. I go to Costco and Aldi. I think the quality of all the item is also needed to be considered also. Sometime just looking at the price will not save you on the quality you are left with! :)

Plus with Costco even though I have heard people complain about the packaging at Costco. They are larger quantities. So less packaging if you take that into consideration.

Love these price comparsion videos , although i don't shop at either of these places due to fact we don't own a car Aldi is a lot closer to us but fact we have Tesco and Frozen food store that is linked to B&M on our doorstep we tend to stick with that . Have heard a lot of good things about Costco maybe i will get there one day, think would be a few of us that can split things between so not as expensive . Hope you all have a brilliant week

Great comparison and lots of good items. Jaime & Katie ty. Prices in general have just been so much more lately. I do save on the bulk items since they last me longer but produce etc. can be tricky, always checking on current store sales.

As someone who is highly sensitive to nitrates/nitrites and other carcinogenic ingredients, Aldi offers more deli meats and my dollar there. Additionally, we don’t eat much store bought bread, but if we ever want bagels Aldi has smaller packages so there’s less waste. Costco is our primary shopping destination because it offers a large range of staples that we do use. If you really want to do a deep dive, look into comparing “healthier” options. I bet you’d be surprised

Hi family freedom! I’m a Brit 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿living in Australia 🇦🇺 it was interesting,watching you shopping at Costco & comparing prices with Aldi ! My siblings in the UK tell me how costly grocery shopping is & prices are increasing some what! Grocery shopping here has increased in price ,since the Pandemic! We get a lot of food from overseas UK ,Europe & Asia & we certainly have a shortage of food brands,like you ! Your prices are similar to Australia,but I noticed you paid more for 40 toilet roll in Costco! I can buy 48 three ply for $20 & if I shop around,I can buy for less ! I think when you way up your traveling time,Petal consumption & subscription it probably isn’t worth it ! I’m not sure how far you traveling ? in Australia Costco is around twenty mins to half hr travelling! Good luck 🥰

I know I live in an apartment with a crappy small pantry compared to that of the one my father used to have which was slightly bigger but still hated it made it hard to get to what is needed for a particular meal had to pull things out of the way to get to what is in backed I remember going to a home show with my dad about modification that could be made to make it more user friendly since there are times when because of temporary or intermittent disability where one of us is wheelchair bound with the modifications would make user friendly and allow for independence. Whereas the pantry my grandparents had I liked it far better but yet if modifications may would make it even more friendly since some family members wound up wheelchair and bound thus they would be able to help with stocking and retreating food items during meal preparation. And we had upright freezers which is better than a chest for a wheelchair user. And we have had both temporary and permanent users. My father became a permanent chair user and as for me intermittently because of my back injury I had as a kid. And to put things simply I hate being confined to a wheelchair but at least when needed have it until the vertebrae can be re-aligned and the swelling of my spinal cord goes down when it gets inflamed making it to where I cannot walk it not very well. Plus when I was really little I was hit by some kind of illness which really Confused the doctors where I could not walk I had to be carried everywhere until it passed. I was around 4 or 5 and before I was to start kindergarten. At least I recovered. Before school started. Dad was the one who had to carry me most of the time since I was becoming too big and heavy for mom. Plus one reason I know the old family house had such a good pantry was because he family grew a lot of its own foods so used to can and dehydrated and package much of what is to be used throughout the year to feed the family until the next growing season.

A lot of people say Costco isn’t cheaper, I price matched a lot of stuff last time I went and they were significantly cheaper and the quality of the products were a lot better. Yes you have to spend a lot in the first place but it lasts and we freeze huge amounts of meats etc to last. A whole pork loin was £18 last week, but had £5 off so was £13. I cut it into 26 1”-1.5”thick steaks

You don't have to pay an annual membership for Aldi do you, but you do for Costco ! so take that into consideration, plus getting out to a Costco and the price of petrol etc etc.

One thing you have to be mindful of as well is the food waste. I always limit how much fresh food I get. I love the quality of the fruit, veg and meat in Costco, but it isn’t better value if you end up binning half of it.

Cheers from Toronto. We love Costco. We have Costco exec. Membership with Costco mastercard. We get 2% back on our purchases. Which is a lot more than our card costs. Do you have Costco cooked roast chickens. They are cheaper than raw chickens. The coffee cream and boxed organic salads are almost half the price of major retail grocers. They also have the cheapest cheese prices. The best thing about Costco you can return anything , no questions asked. You could buy that big tv you saw and return it in 90 days, just because you didn't like it. Costco model is membership fees. They do not make any profit on goods sold. The markups are only to recover operating costs. If you study their annual financial reports, You see the profit is just from membership fees.

Well it all depends really. The Costco in Sydney Australia the types of people that go there either like to buy groceries in bulk or large families households that have more mouths to feed. I think it also comes down to your budget with everything becoming more expensive it comes down to what you can afford in order to survive. However, because my budget is tight and I live on my own we have specials every Wednesdays I look at the catalogue see which has more specials on what I need but generally Aldi is a win for me.

It’s goods and services tax, usually it’s built into the price in the UK so you don’t realise it there but, Costco is a whole sale club so it isn’t applied until check out, a bit like America. I think that’s how to explain it 😂 not really sure
