Costly Repairs: Thousands Spent on Repairing Spanish Wells, Bahamas.
We've had enough! What does B.O.A.T. mean? We’ll get into that in this episode. A little hint: boating isn’t cheap. We spent several thousand dollars in Stuart getting Sea Star ready for this Bahamas trip. Installing a new electric inverter and forward air conditioning unit put us back over four thousand dollars.
But we were sitting at a dock then, sailing the boat tends to show hidden issues that the dock doesn’t. Some things can be overlooked, some can’t. There are certain things that need to function to continue cruising. With these it’s fix it or head home. On Grand Bahama we installed two new macerator pumps. Total cost of about eight hundred dollars. But now on Spanish Wells things are about to get expensive.

Thanks for watching 🙏 We paid less than we would have at home😀 The motor is a two stroke, you can’t buy one in the States so it’s apples to oranges but we got it for 2K. The same four stroke model at West Marine is about 3K. Same with the batteries. A similar model (8D 1440 CCA) at West Marine is about 1K. We got these for $620 each. We were surprised and ecstatic with the price 👍
