How would you compare the Mood in CA to the Mood in NY? Do they have similar vibes or is there a distinct difference? Has Bernadette shopped the LA garment/fashion district? Is reciprocal fabric shopping trips a thing? Before the shutdown I bought 40 meters of red/white gingham in Bukit Mertajam, Malaysia. My husband says I smiled for the rest of the day. ♥️ Stay safe.

I go to the Garment District regularly but still, after years of going, I find it pretty overwhelming. I don't much like to haggle and that's part of the problem. But, also, it's a place where you have to go with an open mind because it's really difficult to find specific things, but that can also be a problem because you might end up buying so much stuff you weren't really looking for (ask me how I know!). Another thing, I like Mood and the other pricey stores because they actually label everything. The downside, of course, is that they tend to be the more expensive stores.

@@angeliccow If you know where to go you can find some bargains. There's a little crowded asian shop quite near where I live that has some really nice stuff, but you have to dig around to find what you want. There's an area north of the city (you know, where they first shut down the suburbs due to the virus) that has lots of good places, but I rareky get to that side of the city. There are a few bridal fabric places where they're really snobby at you. Darn Cheap usually has some nice stuff on their $2/m table, and lots of other lovely stuff that's more expensive. I have a Spotlight that's within my 5km permitted radius (but of course, they're closed for the next few weeks still)...

Jen Stosser surry Hills in sydney has some good places. I wouldn’t say cheap but if you are happy to mail order I can recommend e.m greenfields in Sydney. I did a fabric shopping tour in NYC a couple of years ago and got and GORGEOUS blue and silver wool mix (they said it was Chanel?) from a shop that I think had the word Royal or Regal in the name. Wish I could remember what the actual name of the shop was because I may need more than the 1.5yds I bought (@$95/yd!) and I'm hoping it's still available...
@raraavis77824 жыл бұрын
If it was a somewhat unusual fabric, it's highly unlikely, that it would still be available even in the next season, let alone years later. Designer fabrics are like fashion collections...they get designed and produced and once they're gone, they're gone. Only 'basics' are usually available on an ongoing basis. Sorry, I know it sucks...been there myself. Bought to little, went back just weeks later...nothing to be done 😕
