You want it left long so you can drape and fold it. As in, I leave mine 24 inches longer than where it would hit the floor.

Mending is great for hits of serotonin. I use short, quick projects to break up longer projects so I don't get slogged down in the 'oh, my gods, how much more of this is there?!?!?!'s. I enjoy watching them, too, and they work well with low spoons times. I'm slowly coming out of my 'must only read' phase and slowly catching up with my subscribed channels here on the youtubes. I knit a kitty based on a terrible pun (nyanhotep)...which was a flat knit kitty pattern with an ahnk double (or is it duplicate...I'm not sure exactly, but using an alternate color of yarn to mimic the knit stitches below it) stitched on his chest. I recently relistened to the Heartstrikers series, which was delicious to listen to again. Also listened to the related series DFZ by Rachel Aaron. The kitty is also lovely. Mine is yelling at me to go to bed, so I suppose I should listen....despite accidentally taking a four hour nap at my desk....oops....
@Costuming_DramaАй бұрын
Wow! A 4 hour nap at your desk!!! I would for sure need at least a couch for that!

This looked like a fabulous event. The clothes were gorgeous. I first learned about the Chevalier de Saint-Georges through the BBC podcast You're Dead to Me. He was fascinating. However, one comment you made stopped me cold. You mentioned people telling you that they felt safe there. It's really sad that feeling safe in this country is something that is not a given. I'm not shocked, just sad.

Hey Noelle, it's been a long crazy while, but I'm going to have a laptop and phone on the way soon. I'll probably have the funding soon after, as far as what I'm listening to is finishing book 2 of the farseer trilogy. I'll give ya more updates soon!

Any chance we'll get an updated video on your bookshelf (not sewing books, just "normal" books!)? I remember watching one from you years ago but can't find it anymore and I feel like our taste is very similar, so I'd love to revisit what you've read, any new series you've fallen in love with, etc. BTW loved this video, especially the shorts - I gotta do that for some of mine!

I really like this style of video, I get the feeling of someone 'hanging out' with me while I sew without someone in my space or getting in my way. Also video's are way less taxing on my bandwidth than video calls with my friends so I need to be selective when I do them

Good video but it just reminds me of how much mending I should be doing!! I’m not doing much to time off to listen to the Honor Harrington series by Webber. I was spending too much time doom scrolling US politics. Yes I realize that I just switched politics to the star kingdom. It’s a good series and way more fun than doom scrolling! I really should be paying attention to Canadian politics but the US stuff is now. For something completely different a friend convicted me to buy house plants. She’s a bad influence lol my black thumb and I are now trying to keep them alive. Oh and where to put them so I don’t forget about them. Someone should invent a thing that allows the plants to scream when the soil needs water for people like me! Everyone else in the house is either vocal about food or able to feed themselves.
@Costuming_DramaАй бұрын
Ahahahaah I can imagine screams coming from all corners of my house! I have a ficus tree and it’s SO PICKY. It throws a leaf down when it’s mad about anything. It’s basically fall all year long with that things!

Hello friend. I love the term "pocket friend" because I now imagine you with miniature Abby, Morgan, Nicole and others tucked into pocketses of hobbit shorts! So fun. (Yes, I am easily amused and entertain myself with random weirdness} I finished the Hapi coat mock-up for my son's Christmas gift, making notes on the pattern about the things I need to pay better attention to on the final version, as well as an assembly change I believe will result in a sleeker finish. I made progress on the Coquelicot skirt I told you about, and it is probably 2/3rds complete; it's hanging currently. Oh, and a sledgehammer, a hammer drill and I took out the fireplace hearth base in a house we're remodeling. Sounds like a lot, but it's been several weeks since I last wrote. Sorry people were unkind about your hand sewing. Be well!
