I was just thinking, unused fabrics storage! As someone who can barely walk in her sewing room, that's a solution!

I've got a foot stool, a friend was throwing it out because it was ugly fabric, another friend was replacing her sofa that was broken, so I had the fabric from the back, so I have a nicely upholstered foot stool and they both want the stool 😂, not happening. Your poof is very cute, but I don't have space for one, and that's before we move to a smaller house. ❤

Very glad to hear you're feeling better! I just finished my husband's costume for Dragon*Con. He and a bunch of his friends do a themed group costume every year, and this year it was DC Comics villains. Fate smiled upon me and all I had to make is a "smoking jacket" (the top part of a robe) from black poly-suede and give it lime green satin facings and banding. I kid you not; the character's name is Chameleon, look it up. He's taking care of the mask. I am happy happy happy, because I retired last Friday! Looking forward to lots of sewing, knitting, baking, and all the other things I haven't had time for. And living in Alabama. I completely get "It may be fall but it's still 90 degrees." 95 tomorrow, in fact.

I have been wanting to make one of these ever since I saw Maria do one. I have several dogs and cats and I was concerned about everything in it getting dirty so the “plan” is to use a heavy duty yard garbage bag for the lining bag. Now I need to just get to making a decision about what fabric to use for the main poof 😂

Thanks for this video Noelle! I'm currently watching A Discovery of Witches, having recently read the original trilogy. Hubby is re-watching it, and seeing different things than the first time through. Maybe it could get you out of your watching slump? Australia is a land of contrasts. We recently returned from Alice Springs, where it was over 30 degrees C, and they are continuing with hotter that usual for the time of the year there. Going from around 12 degrees C (Melbourne), to mid - high twenties at Yulara Resort (where you stay when visiting Uluru and Kata Tjuta) was a jump for us, but the Alice was a killer. It's warming up to Spring here now, so we will be able to get used to the heat before summer hits! Pleased you are recovering and having more good days 💛

@Costuming_Drama I am sorry to hear that. I did not know there was behind the scenes drama. Probably because I do not get involved in drama. Unless it is your video drama, then I am all in.💚💚💚 I really enjoyed all the creative ideas. Thank you for answering me. I really appreciate you.

What a fun project! I can really use one of these! Down here in San Diego my summer was fairly craptacular, had to go out on disability from work, A drunk driver totalled my parked car on 4th of July, and I have had not one ounce of creativity. But things are looking up! I feel much better, my car got totally covered and I have a new one! And my creative mojo seems to be peeking out from under my rock now and then! I just need a vacation from this summer! 😂😂 Glad you are feeling better, exciting TV coming this fall!!

Our summer vacation is nearly over as the kids go back to highschool next week. My entertainment has been playing video games and d&d -- Wytchwood, then Warcraft's next expansion The War Within, and then the new d&d books come out in September. My most anticipated game is Civilization 7, coming out early next year, woohoo!

I just finished Ripley, which took me a long time even though it's only 8 episodes, because it's moody and I'm not always in the mood for moody. Also I found that I had to really actually pay attention most of the time, and tv tends to be craft time for me. But still I recommend it! It was very good!

I have been talking about making a poof for over a year now, and this may be the motivation I needed to get started. I have also been wanting to make piping but was emotionally stuck on what to use for the cording. Now, I am just going to use the stuff I have on hand. I am happy you are doing better!

I really enjoyed the video, love that you can use up your scraps this way, and that you have access to the scraps in case there was some little piece that you realize you could’ve used for something else. Great way to get rid of old socks. I have a hard time throwing away old towels that could be used for rags, so again this could be a way to use them and still have access if I decide I need one. Cool! Sorry to hear you’ve been sick; this is the first time I’ve seen one of your videos, so I don’t know how serious it was, but hopefully you are on the mend. I presume you live in Southern California if you’ve gone to Disneyland. You are very brave to do this in a Southern California summer. I won’t go near the place until we get some cool weather!

These used to be hugely popular and then disappeared and I don't know why - they're fab and, like you said, a great way to store things. 300 throws for the sofa, chuck em in a pouffe! That said, I probably wont be making one. As much as they look brilliant, I'm actively in minimising mode (reducing 300 throws to 1 negates the need for the pouffe). Decided to be brave and heading to university soon as a mature student at the grand young age of 49 - going to get the degree I was going to get when I left school many MANY years ago before deciding i liked earning money more than studying.

July did a doozy on me, mental health wise, so August has been very much about taking it easy. Sewing is part of that! Got sucked into hexagons (thanks, Shannon) and was really enjoying the handsewing for that, so decided to pick up the unfinished linen shift that has been laying about guilt-tripping me everytime I looked at it, and finished that in one evening of sewing along to Star Wars VI (it works, don't ask why, but it does). Yesterday cut out the bits to start a new petticoat. Got half the placket sewed yesterday and the seam up the back to the point where the placket goes in all done! Feeling a bit more accomplished and better, headspacewise. Our summer (UK) has been hmmm. apart from a few days here and there, relatively cool compared to recent years. I like it that way (I'm like you, dislike heat/heavy sun) but people around me haven't been too happy. A month or so and it'll all be over - proper autumn begins around the end of September here, if not before (we're already seeing blackberries). Glad you're on the mend, even if that mend is slow, some progress is better than none! x

Hi Noel, lovely to hear and see you looking well. I hope you are feeling well too. My eldest son who lives in Germany and his family have been visiting his youngest brother who lives in Japan. Loved it of course, but I hadn't realised just how tense I was while he was not in his usual place! So after a lovely long chat with him and the rest of the family, yesterday am feeling much more relaxed. I have lots of projects on the go, and now I have a new one to add to the mix. Thank you. :) Having problems with both shoulders at the present is hampering progress however,. left one is improving, just hope the right one improves soon.

I used the same pattern and I used denim from old jeans and one panel is Zelda (the game) for my cat Zelda. It was meant to be her pouf. I didn’t have enough cabbage so it has t-shirts, a pair of curtains, and some pool noodles 😂😅. As I gain space more cabbage will go in and the silly stuff will come out. I love that you call yours “ the cabbage patch”❤

I'm on the struggle bus this summer. My mom is an 81 year old T1D with plural effusions and CHF. She had a medical crisis in June. It was pretty shocking and I'm not getting to spend as much time in my garden and I'd hoped, but what survived my neglect is doing great! 😅 I have a bunch of baby cucumbers! (Have you seen baby cucumbers? THEY'RE SO CUTE!) I'm trying to get my feet under me but caregiving is brutally hard, even when I've chosen it. Which I have. I have chosen it. But it's also really hard work. And both can be true at the same time. Thank you for such a lovely calm project and I'm SO glad you're showing signs of recovery.

I am currently watching a Chinese Drama called Back from the Brink. I discovered a liking for Chines Dramas and Kpop when my husband had two strokes last year and I needed something fun, light and mindless to help keep my balance and mind while he was in hospital and care for 10 months. Now he's home and we are navigating a new normal. I may make one of those pouffs - they look really useful and the idea of using them for storing sheets and clothing as well as stuffing them full of your scraps is fabulous.

I have a friend who had a leather one and used to store his winter/summer clothes in it, and I've been tempted to make a few smaller ones for storing cabbage by fibre content... but that'll wait till I finish the last 5x5' floor section in my craft room and start actually organizing stuff in there. I've got two full trunks and half a dozen totes to sort by fibre content and wash and restash or donate.... Glad you're feeling better, I hope that keeps improving and your recovery time starts decreasing!

@@Costuming_Drama one is red and the other is orange. I used a Moroccan table that I found at a consignment shop to create my living room. I was loading the legs of the brass table and saw that it was painted wood. After scraping a bit off, I found that it had mother-of-pearl flowers glued into the wood!!! I can't find anyone who is willing to refinish the legs to get the paint off as they are frightened that they will damage the mother of pearl. We think that the wood may have also been brightly painted and whomever owned it before probably thought it was too garish and painted the legs black.

The TV weather guy said today that terrible heat is behind us. Uh, yeah. 90's vs 100's in Texas is not that much different. Started Wheel of time again. I had finished 9 books and then took a lengthy break. On book 11 now. Not watching anything in particular but am trying to finish a project to fix cat damage to the couch. Basically it's an upholstery patch. The couch is too big for a full re-upholster job for my skill level. It's been fun figuring out the shape and how it will attach. I really do enjoy your channel. It's very calming to me.

Relearning to walk in physical therapy. It's exhausting. I can, at least, sew and drive again. I like the poof. I've been trying to catalog all of my patterns on my computer so that I have one place to easily reference, instead of digging through the drawers (and wherever else the patterns may be hiding.) I'm also trying to put away the last of the mess that got made over the last year in my sewing room. I'm almost done.
