Great work! I did get one note from a pro HVAC tech on the leveling part of the inside unit mount bracket that might help on most any unit. On most units, you actually don't want it to be perfectly level, but actually b want it to slightly tilt so the condensation will run to the drain tube. It stops a lot of mildew and gunk build up, especially in a garage or shop where dust levels are likely to be higher. I've experienced this myself in my small studio which produces a lot of airborne particulates. Thanks for the video and taking the time and effort to share the process! Keep up the great work!

So why didn't you go out the right side for lineset and drain so lineset connections are outside the wall. I know I give you stuff alot. Oh Milwaukee came out with a vacuum pump

Thanks for the good vid BUT.......I wanna make 1 suggestion. You should NOT have spooled the refer lines vertical, against the wall(this allows the oil to pool at the bottom of the spool upon draining back to the comp), you should have spooled them horizontal(flat) above the condenser so the oil can drain back to the comp.

I meant the copper lines sizes . Metric ?inches? Right Flare tool shopping want to know. Manuals give not much info on anything. My flares look scratched and I want to re do them before I install. Mine arrived last week and sitting. Have to get all the right tools first now.

So wait, you're honestly saying 1 mini split is enough for a large garage like yours? We have a mini split in our IDF room and small monitor room amd both are pefect applications. Except there about half the size of your garage so I'd assume 1 isnt going to cut it. Sure, better than nothing but not howd you'd want it. Or maybe I'm wrong. U tell me.....

That is an A2L refrigerant system. You need non-arch rated tools. I’ve watched several videos just to check on the performance of these units and the R-32 refrigerant. This is not really a DIY kit, if you want DIY go with Mr. Cool. I can get this done because I’m a technician and I have all of the specialty tools that altogether cost more than the whole system. If you decide to DIY buy an A2L approved vacuum, manifold with hoses, flaring tool, a core tool remover for a faster vacuum. These require a dedicated circuit so if you know electrical is self explanatory. As far as all of these dog water installs I’ve seen, avoid that sloppy slack on the line set, cut it down to length and cut off the factory flares. Factory flares are what causes most initial leaks in these new systems. PRACTICE YOUR FLARES! Got it down now? Good, proceed to flare and apply a liberal amount of nylog on your flare. Positive pressure test with nitrogen for 20 minutes, once no leaks are verified you can release the nitrogen. Proceed with a vacuum of at least 500 µm. From there release your charge and you’re good to go. Folks these things might be cheap and you’re probably here because you got what you thought was n outrageous quote but what most residential HVAC guys do is a lot more complicated than you think. If your system breaks immediately it’s not the manufacturer, IT IS YOU!
